Position Summary

The Asset Management Team, among the hospitality platform at Brookfield Properties, is seeking a highly progressive and dynamic professional with an innovative approach to integrated and holistic marketing. This position will join the Commercial Team to ensure all hotels achieve budgeted annualized business plans, generate consumer facing deliverables and content that remain on-brand and positively impact topline revenues. This position is entirely focused on topline revenue generation through the discipline of marketing. The Director of Marketing will collaborate with all designated hotels, both branded and independent, as well as provide feedback and guidance on all proposed creative deliverables. The role must ensure each hotel prepares and executes fully integrated marketing plans based on applicable booking windows by both market segment and distribution channel. Additionally, this individual will support each property in guiding third party agencies such as public relations firms, social media agencies, creative content agencies, etc. This professional will support those properties undergoing a full repositioning, brand conversion and/or rebranding by ensuring all commercially driven marketing initiatives are aligned in both timing and the targeted consumer demographic.

Responsibilities

  • Review each hotel's annual marketing plan including marketing budget, and provide guidance to the Hotel Team to maximize the hotel's awareness, ensure alignment with business plan revenues and ROI on marketing spend
  • Review each hotel's competitive set and related marketing messages (by hotel), and provide guidance to differentiate the subject hotel according to its unique value propositions
  • Review each property's 90-day marketing calendar to ensure brand alignment and that promotional messaging is line with targeted revenue objectives
  • Support the hotel and regional team through a launch (or rebrand) to ensure the marketing plan, selection of 3rd party firms (social media, public relations, etc) and timing of outreach is properly aligned with the official launch date

  • Review of the content and distribution of hotel seasonal activations, programming and packages while providing feedback and guidance when necessary. Ensure that activations and programming align with the revenue objectives of the hotel.
  • Final 'set of eyes' for proofing, editing and approval of all property related consumer facing communication pieces
  • Provide direction and guidance to property teams related to all contracted 3rd party marketing related firms
  • Quarterly audit of each property's digital and video content and creative assets to optimize topline revenues
  • Create KPIs to enable monthly performance tracking of marketing initiatives across the portfolio

  • Track the effectiveness of hotel marketing activities on a monthly and quarterly basis
  • Assist in the selection of third party vendors and agencies including content creation companies, public relations firms, social media vendors etc.
  • Identify and evaluate potential partnerships that align with hotels' strategic positioning and business goals
  • Assist with establishing all aspects of the guest journey and overall hotel experience, ensuring that key touchpoints are in place, branding elements are pulled through on property and with service provided to guests

Qualifications

  • A progressive and dynamic innovator among creative development and copywriting
  • Hospitality specific related experience is not a requirement, but, exceptional and forward-thinking creativity is a must
  • Ability to develop strong working relationships with hotel teams and collaborate to design and implement creative and effective marketing initiatives that drive revenues

  • Extensive experience in selecting and managing marketing related third party agencies
  • Skilled in copywriting, content creation and development of consumer facing deliverables
  • Experienced in product launches or rebranding exercises
  • Skilled in data analysis, across a diverse array of available industry related tools, with the ability to develop strategies to optimize topline revenues
  • Ability to evaluate and critique holistic marketing plans and marketing budgets

  • Ability to apply and pull through brand approved guidelines among both independent and branded hotel environments to ensure brand aligned visual articulation, messaging and content
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented, well organized and results driven professional with the ability to learn new skills expeditiously
  • Ability to manage competing demands, multiple tasks and deadlines
  • Strong, clear and concise written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficient in full suite of Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)

  • Some travel will be required to the hotels and will be partially remotely located
  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum 10 years of marketing experience
