About Us:Special Olympics Nevada (SONV) creates inclusive opportunities for children and adults with intellectual disabilities through health, education, leadership development, and sports. As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, SONV providesfree, year-round training and competition programsfor more than2,800 athletesacross7 sportsand14 competitions annuallythrough our Community Sports Program.
OurUnified Champion Schools Programfosters inclusion by engaging more than28,900 students statewide, promoting leadership and growth through Unified Sports®, which bring athletes with and without intellectual disabilities together as teammates.
SONV also prioritizes the overallhealth and well-being of individuals with intellectual disabilitiesby providing free screenings and services through ourHealthy Athletes events. Our impact is made possible by the dedication of nearly2,000 volunteersand the generous support of individuals, corporations, foundations, and community partners.
Position Overview:TheDirector of Developmentwill serve as a key member of SONV’s leadership team, reporting directly to the President & CEO. This role is responsible for identifying and securing new corporate partnerships and individual donors to support SONV’s mission, programs, and events.
The Director will also oversee SONV’s statewide partnership with local law enforcement agencies through theLaw Enforcement Torch Run (LETR), ensuring meaningful engagement opportunities for athletes while strengthening community connections.
Responsibilities/Essential Functions
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward relationships with corporate partners, foundations, and individual donors.
• Manage and expand SONV’sLaw Enforcement Torch Run partnershipto increase engagement and fundraising results.
• Develop and execute strategies to achieve annual fundraising goals.
• Collaborate with staff, volunteers, and community stakeholders to maximize fundraising potential and mission impact.
• Provide leadership, guidance, and support for fundraising events, campaigns, and donor recognition activities.
• Ensure accurate reporting and donor tracking usingSalesforceand other systems.
• Represent SONV at events, networking opportunities, and community functions to advance awareness and support.

• Have strong computer proficiency, includingMicrosoft Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, and Salesforce.
• Can exercise discretion, independent judgment, and creative problem-solving.
• Are flexible to occasionally work evenings and weekends, based on the development calendar.

Pay: $68,500.00 - $74,000.00 per year
