Job Description
We are looking for a strategic, analytical, and hands-on Director of Economy & Analytics to lead the future of data and economy innovation across our loyalty platform. In this role, you’ll serve as both a visionary leader and active contributor, driving loyalty economy design, advanced analytics, and data strategy while mentoring a high-performing team of BI professionals. You’ll work cross-functionally to unlock deeper player engagement and loyalty through data-driven decisions that shape our business.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Develop and lead the business intelligence and economy strategy and vision for the playAWARDS division, ensuring alignment with overall company-wide goals and objectives.
• Own and execute the annual BI roadmap, incorporating advanced analytics, predictive modeling, and machine learning to drive innovation and insight.
• Oversee the design and implementation of scalable data infrastructure and champion data quality, accuracy, and accessibility across platforms and tools.
• Serve as a thought leader in loyalty economy design, player segmentation, A/B testing, and analytics innovation across the organization.
• Define and maintain the health and sustainability of the myVIP loyalty economy, including Loyalty Point earnings/spend, reward pricing, tier progression systems, and fraud mitigation.
• Oversee–and when necessary, directly contribute to–the development of dashboards, reporting, and deep-dive analyses to monitor player behavior, loyalty engagement, and program performance.
• Develop and standardize key performance indicators (KPIs) and success metrics to track business performance across functions.
• Prepare and deliver high-level presentations of actionable insights and data-driven recommendations to playAWARDS leadership and executive teams.
• Direct the planning, execution, and evaluation of A/B tests and other experiments to assess the impact of different loyalty features, economy changes, and promotional activities.
• Direct the development and application of machine learning models and advanced analytics in partnership with data scientists.
• Collaborate cross-functionally with product, marketing, game teams, and reward partners to align data insights with strategic goals.
• Translate complex business challenges into actionable analyses and clear, strategic recommendations.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of analysts and data scientists/economists, cultivating a high-performing, data-driven culture.
• Manage project prioritization, resource allocation, timelines, and budgets for BI and economy functions.Requirements
• Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, data science, economics, statistics, analytics, or equivalent practical experience
• 5+ years of prior experience in business intelligence/data science, with a demonstrated ability to scale, manage, and mentor high-performing BI teams.
• Proven leadership experience at the director level, with experience driving strategy and influencing stakeholders across departments.
• Strong strategic vision and problem-solving skills, with an ability to align BI strategies to overall business objectives
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and inquisitive, with a focus on precision and actionable insights.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL, Excel, and BI tools (e.g., Tableau, Sisense).
• Deep understanding of A/B testing frameworks, modeling, statistical rigor, and experimentation best practices.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, project management skills, and a capacity to influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization.
• Self-motivated & analytical with the ability to work in a collaborative, agile team environment with aggressive deadlines and multiple priorities.
• Experience managing virtual economies or loyalty systems, preferably within mobile games, casino/hospitality, or other consumer-facing industries, is strongly preferred.Benefits and Perks
