Opportunity: Director of Enrollment and Communications

The Director of Enrollment and Communications will report directly to the CEO/Superintendent and is responsible for overseeing scholar recruitment and enrollment as well as the Communication strategies and policies across Propel's network. This individual sets and drives towards a strategic vision for enrollment and recruitment of scholars. This position is responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive integrated communications plan to market a positive brand image and message to external and internal audiences. The role has a heavy emphasis on brand management and marketing and is responsible for managing all communications plan activities. The Director will meet regularly with principals to collaborate on enrollment and communications initiatives at the school-level and work collaboratively to create and implement an annual strategic plan.

This position is located at our Administrative Office in Southside and is a hybrid position with 2 days in the office per week.

Responsibilities

Scholar Enrollment and Recruitment Leadership

  • Develop an annual strategic vision and plan to meet enrollment targets across all schools/campuses
  • Manage and coordinate a diverse team to meet annual enrollment targets including network and school based staff to direct all scholar recruitment and enrollment efforts
  • Drive and manage campus-based and network recruitment and scholar enrollment efforts and support campuses in attaining goals making real-time adjustments, as necessary
  • Align network and campus resources, as needed, to meet network scholar enrollment goals
  • Conduct research and analysis of enrollment trends to inform annual recruitment plan
  • Support schools in implementing their plans aligned to meeting enrollment objectives

Manage Network Enrollment Policy Development, Implementation and Training

  • Establish, document and communicate common procedures, guidelines and timelines for enrollment
  • Lead processes to create process documentation and training materials on enrollment policies, procedures and processes
  • Lead and/or facilitate regular and on-going professional development opportunities for school-based and Propel Office staff to build both technical and adaptive skills related to enrollment management

Communications

  • Develop and implement an integrated strategic communications plan to advance Propel's brand identity, broaden awareness of its programs and priorities, and increase the visibility of its programs across key stakeholder audiences
  • Provide messages, brand discipline and guidance to ensure that Propel is described consistently and compellingly in external materials and media outlets
  • Define an annual strategic vision for Propel's communication, development and engagement that aligns with our organizational mission, values, strategy and current priorities
  • Manage internal communications including internal newsletters and messages
  • Manage family and scholar communications

Marketing

  • Create a marketing strategy to advertise Propel as a great public school option for families
  • Assist other departments in their marketing efforts
  • Manage Propel's social media presence on all platforms
  • Oversee Propel's external website
  • Work collaboratively with departments on the implementation and upkeep of Propel's intranet

Qualifications

This role requires a working knowledge of Enrollment processes and Communications. Additional requirements include:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from an accredited four-year college or university, along with a minimum of 7 to 10 years of related experience
  • Prior experience managing people or enterprise processes in a similar role
  • High proficiency in modern technologies
  • Experience in a similar role in a traditional district or charter school is strongly preferred
  • Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to thrive in ambiguity through the use of innovation, problem-solving and good judgment
  • Exceptional reliability, integrity, and ability to responsibly handle confidential information with discretion
  • Belief in and commitment to the mission and core values of Propel Schools
  • Ability to listen, influence, and execute through others while coordinating across a broad and diverse group of stakeholders

Compensation and Benefits:

  • Compensation: Propel provides a competitive salary. Relevant prior work experience will be considered when determining placement within our salary range.
  • Health Insurance: Medical, dental, and vision plan options at a low cost for individual employees and families.
  • Retirement: New hires participate in a 403(b); Propel contributes 5% automatically and matches up to 4%. This increases after 5 years.
  • Paid Leave: In addition to 16-19 paid holidays annually, the Director will receive 5 sick days and 10 Personal Days. The Director will also accrue vacation time per pay period.
  • Tuition Assistance: Reimbursement of up to $3,000 annually upon completion of course and receipt of grades for coursework that meets our eligibility requirements.
  • Wellness Benefit: Reimbursement of $20 per month for wellness activities including Gym Memberships, health programs, etc. Additionally, staff have the ability to earn up to $300 for participation in a Wellness Program each year.
  • Professional Development: At Propel, we believe in supporting staff growth and provide substantial school-based and network-wide professional development support for all staff. The Director will participate in Professional Development throughout the school year.
