Job Description

Are you a dedicated Physician Assistant looking for the next step in your career—one that offers stability, professional fulfillment, and the opportunity to shape the future of the profession? At Pennsylvania College of Technology, we are seeking a Director of the Physician Assistant Program to lead and inspire the next generation of healthcare providers.

This leadership role goes beyond clinical practice, offering a balanced schedule, academic holidays, and a chance to mentor future PAs in a collaborative, learning-focused environment. The director will oversee the organization, administration, periodic review, and continued development of the Physician Assistant program. Additionally, this position plays a key role in fostering relationships with clinical sites in both urban and rural areas, ensuring students receive exceptional hands-on training.

 Why Higher Education?

  •  Predictable Work Schedule – Enjoy structured hours without the unpredictability of clinical shifts, on-call duties, or weekend demands.
  • Educate & Inspire – Make a lasting impact by guiding students through their journey to becoming healthcare professionals.
  • Growth & Leadership – Engage in program development, accreditation processes, and faculty mentorship while advancing your own career.
  • Comprehensive Benefits – Full-time employees enjoy medical and dental insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, and tuition benefits at Penn College and Penn State. In addition, employees also receive 75% tuition reimbursement for coursework at any accredited institution if it supports their career at Penn College. For additional information, click here.

Minimum education and experience:

  • Graduate of an ARC-PA accredited Physician Assistant program or a graduate of an ABMS or AOA-approved medical school.
  • PA must hold a Master's degree or Master's degree in progress with a plan for completion within one year of hire.
  • Must possess at least three years of full-time higher education experience at the time of appointment (ARC-PA requirement).

License and Certifications:

  • Must be a Physician Assistant/Physician Associate (ARC-PA requirement); currently licensed to practice as a Physician Assistant in Pennsylvania.
  • Must hold current National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) certification without restrictions in any state of the United States where licensing occurred.

Minimum abilities and skills:

  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with campus partners in facilities, operations, and physical plant management.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively budget, forecast, and plan for essential housing operations and student programming.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Functional ability with microcomputer applications.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective and positive interpersonal relationships on-campus and in the community.
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to issues of student development, diversity, special population needs, and multicultural issues.
  • Evidence of creative and entrepreneurial problem solving.
  • Self-starter who can work without constant supervision.
