Role Overview
As Director of Payments Product Management, you are a leader on the Payments Product Management team. You will report to the VP Product for Payments Solutions and Platforms and lead a team typically comprised of product managers and product owners. This product leadership role works closely with operations, treasury, reconciliation, bank channel, engineering, and architecture teams to ensure the product platform supports the overall Product Experience and Solution goals aligned with the intended customer experience. In this role, in partnership with other teams across the company, you will be responsible for a key products and capabilities of the payment's platform. Additionally, you will manage the design and build of Pay platform components that drive overall revenue growth and expense reduction for the portfolio/value stream.
Responsibilities
- Drive product management with operations, operation experience, treasury, reconciliation, and integrated partners
- Key leader on pay platform team, product portfolio / value stream leadership from platform planning, prioritizing investments, roadmap execution and tactical activities
- Support the build out of pay platform capabilities
- Build, lead and develop a high performing product management team
- Guides resourcing for multiple solution areas; ensures teams are aligned to Product strategy; communicates status of initiatives to leadership and cross-functional teams
- Engage other product leaders and product managers to define, manage, and evangelize the long-term product line strategy and roadmap
- Drive and sponsor, collaborating engineering, architecture, facilitate workshops, and engage with others to drive platform success
- Develops goals; identifies opportunities across the organization; effectively communicates constraints and solutions to the product org; creates a psychologically safe environment for teams that welcomes feedback, failure, and experimentation
- Understands how to identify market problems and opportunities in a variety of ways; deep knowledge of the customer and business goals; looks through the customer lens.
- Assess and continuously improve the product line through data-driven, agile practices within the larger product and cross-functional teams
- Establish, evaluate and iterate product line investments based on key performance indicators associated to expected results
- Build alignment between technology leadership and product management on the vision and roadmap of your product
- Learn and inject Product Management industry best practices into AvidXchange's processes
- Deliver on roadmap initiatives while working with program management, technology, service, growth, and support leadership
- Drive product management with operations, operation experience, treasury, reconciliation, and integrated partners
What You'll Do
- You will work on both traditional and new payment methods/flows
- You will closely collaborate with Engineering, Business Development, Legal, and many other teams across Avidxchange
- Collaborate with a cross-functional team to develop strategic product and feature roadmaps
- Be the internal evangelist, build consensus with executives, colleagues, and third parties
- Define detailed use cases intended for engineering and design
- Represent business interests during design and development phases
Required Experience, Qualifications & Skills
- 7 or more years of financial services industry experience, specifically within payments
- 4 or more years of formal Management experience
- 3 years of working in an Agile environment
- 5 or more years Product Management and/ or Product Payments experience
- Experience in building payments platform in a SaaS or Financial Services firm
- Experience taking ideas to full implementation
Preferred Experience, Qualifications & Skills
- Experience owning products that are operations facing
- Virtual card experience
