We are seeking a Director of Engineering in Pune to lead our design interoperability group and provide site leadership to our 100+ strong platform group across India. This is an exceptional opportunity to lead impactful engineering initiatives and position Pune as a strategic site within Autodesk's global platform group.

Responsibilities

• Leadership and Strategic Direction:
  
  
  • Lead and manage the engineering department, providing strategic direction and mentorship to a team of engineers.
  • Elevate engagement, technical excellence, and innovation within the Pune site and align with Autodesk's overarching strategy.
• Collaboration and Communication:
  
  
  • Collaborate with product management, design, and other stakeholders to define project requirements and objectives.
  • Drive visibility to the site's impact by proactively communicating achievements and contributions to leadership and the broader Autodesk community.
• Project and Process Management:
  
  
  • Oversee the entire product development lifecycle, ensuring timely and successful project delivery.
  • Develop and implement best practices, processes, and methodologies to enhance efficiency, quality, and productivity.
• Technical Guidance:
  
  
  • Provide technical expertise and support to engineering teams for problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Evaluate and onboard new technologies, tools, and frameworks to strengthen development capabilities.
• Culture and Innovation:
  
  
  • Foster a culture of collaboration, knowledge sharing, and continuous learning within the engineering department.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and customer needs to inform technology roadmap decisions.
• Operational Excellence:
  
  
  • Manage budgets, allocate resources effectively, and deliver projects on time and within budget.

Minimum Qualifications

• Educational Background:
  
  
  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus
• Experience:
  
  
  • 15+ years in the software industry, including experience developing cloud-scale applications and services
  • 5+ years managing large teams, including managers and senior technical leaders
  • Proven success in leading complex projects and delivering impactful results
• Leadership and Collaboration:
  
  
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and mentor engineering teams, fostering a collaborative and high-performing culture
  • Strategic mindset with a proven ability to align engineering efforts with business goals
• Technical Expertise:
  
  
  • Strong experience with cloud technologies, scalable architectures, and modern software development practices
  • Deep understanding of agile methodologies, software development practices, and project management principles
• Soft Skills:
  
  
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a data-driven approach to decision-making
• Operational Acumen:
  
  
  • Proven ability to manage budgets, allocate resources effectively, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget

• Organizational leader responsible for managing through Managers/Senior Managers and professionals with expertise in key disciplines
• Contribute significantly to divisional strategies and impact
• Translate enterprise vision into actionable tactics and lead multi-year financial, operational, and organizational initiatives
• Drive transformative change through innovative approaches, policies, and practices

Salary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location. In addition to base salaries, we also have a significant emphasis on discretionary annual cash bonuses, commissions for sales roles, stock or long-term incentive cash grants, and a comprehensive benefits package.
