Topgolf Callaway Brands is seeking a Director of Product Management - Direct to Consumer (DTC) to drive our digital transformation ambitions in partnership with IT/Engineering across a critical subset of our direct-to-consumer properties, including Travis Mathew, Callaway Golf, Topgolf, and OGIO, and their respective international sites. The ideal candidate will have deep domain knowledge in e-commerce and experience navigating complex organizations (e.g., multi-brand, etc.).
This role oversees a team of 5+ product managers. It will be instrumental in defining and executing a strategic vision for our cross-brand product portfolio, accounting for constraints associated with brands' technical maturity and aligning with the company's overall business strategy. Success will require a mix of business acumen, technical fluency, organizational finesse, patience, customer affinity, and a penchant for innovation. This Director is critical to making our transformation into reality. ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Strategic Planning: Craft and execute a long-term product strategy and associated roadmap in partnership with IT/Engineering that aligns with our business goals. Leverage analytics, insights into tech & consumer trends, and customer feedback to optimize e-commerce platforms, cross-brand efforts, and customer experience.
- Operational Excellence & Stakeholder Communication: Define and implement scalable and effective practices for PM operational workflows, KPI management, velocity of experimentation, and continuous improvement. Collaborate and communicate with stakeholders, including executives and employees, ensuring their input into your plans and providing them with updates on initiatives and experiments.
- Innovation & Experimentation: Monitor market trends, customer preferences, emerging technology, internal data, and industry developments to identify opportunities, develop hypotheses, and define experiments to innovate towards a sustainable competitive advantage.
- Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and develop the PM team, ensuring they have the skills and resources necessary to meet the company's objectives and increase the velocity of business innovation. Champion and foster a culture of innovation, experimentation, business acumen, customer affinity, and collaboration.
COMPETENCIES (Knowledge, Skills & Abilities)
- Product Management (consumer): Proven experience and domain expertise in product management, focusing on driving customer-centric strategies within e-commerce and other digital experiences.
- Digital transformation: Strong understanding of the digital transformation lifecycle and the required cultural and operational shifts necessary for success.
- E-commerce Platforms & Web Development: Technical knowledge of e-commerce platforms and emerging technologies that enable exceptional customer experiences.
- Analytics: Analytically capable and proficient in leveraging data and insights to drive strategy, experimentation, and decision-making. Proficiency with SQL is excellent to have.
- Team-building and leadership: Skills to recruit, develop, and retain top talent. Ability to foster a collaborative and innovative environment. Ability to lead distributed virtual teams.
- Strategic Planning, Operational Excellence, & Execution: The ability to craft strategic technical roadmaps and execute them in alignment with broader business goals. The ability to streamline operations, increase efficiencies, and enhance the overall effectiveness of the PM function.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's degree in STEM or equivalent work experience
- 5+ years' experience with PM leadership and management
- 5+ years' experience with consumer e-commerce platforms & data platforms
- Well-developed executive-level critical thinking and communication skills (written and oral)
- Nice-to-have: Experience with global & cross-functional collaboration & execution.
