Director, Quality Control- House Brands

Job Summary: 

The Director of QC, House Brands establishes, develops, implements, executes  and manages quality control systems designed to ensure continuous high quality products are made available under iHerb’s House Brands. Develops policies, procedures and methods to evaluate and improve the quality of products, materials, components andor operations for House Brands. Develops, assures and maintains the quality of products and processes, including standard procedures, quality auditsreview for all HBs.

Job Expectations: 

• On-board & guide implementation of QMS program for House Brands.
• Supervise workers engaged in inspection and testing activities to ensure high productivity and high technical integrity for all HB products. 
• Develop and analyze statistical data and product specifications to determine standards and to establish quality and reliability expectancy of finished products for HBs.
• Provide technical and statistical expertise to teams on HB products.
• Formulate, document and maintain quality control standards and on-going quality control objectives & design, develop and implement quality control training programs for all HBs
• Coordinate objectives with production procedures in cooperation with other plant managers to maximize product reliability and minimize costs for all HBs
• Create, document and implement inspection criteria and procedures for all HBs
• Provide, and oversee, inspection activity for customer orders for HBs
• Apply total quality management tools and approaches to analytical and reporting processes for HBs
• Create and direct environmental test functions and applications for HB products
• Review and “Pre-Approve to Ship” All House Brands Incoming Raw Material COA’s for House Brands Controlled Products
• Review and “Pre-Approve to Ship” All House Brands & Private Label (PL) DBA’s Finished Goods
• Receive All House Brands & PL DBA’s Finished Goods (Per SOP)
• Work with Third Party Labs and Testing Facilities to Ensure Quality of All House Brands & PL DBA’s Finished Goods
• Release All House Brands & PL DBA’s Finished Goods for Sale
• Maintain/Retain All Necessary Finished Goods Samples and Documentation
• Assist with Label Review Process
• Monitor and Approve for Receipt All House Brands & PL DBA’s Inbound Products
• Monitor, Designate and Approve for Fulfillment of Orders, All House Brands  & PL DBA’s Outbound Products to Customers (iHerb.Com)
• Conduct and Document Organoleptic Tests for All Incoming House Brands & PL DBA’s Products
• Investigate, Document and Resolve Quality Issues for All House Brands & PL DBA’s Products
• Conduct Audits of Third Party Test Lab Facilities + Contract Manufacturers of House Brands & PL DBA’s Facilities
• Collaborate with House Brands Department to Improve All Aspects of Our Business

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

   Required:

• Supervisory/management experience
• Kaizen and Lean Manufacturing techniques
• Experience with developing/documenting procedures.
• Use of Quality Engineering methods in inspection
• Computer proficiency
• Quality orientation and high attention to detail.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Experience working with high performance teams
• Problem analysis and problem resolution skills

Equipment Knowledge: 

• Experience with Microsoft Excel and the use of formulas preferred
• Experience with Google Business Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Forms) preferred

Experience Requirements:

• Generally requires a minimum of seven (7) years related experience with three to four years of supervisory experience required. Must be experienced in cGMP compliance.

Education Requirements: 

Bachelor’s Degree, or equivalent experience required
