What You Will Contribute To Altos

As a member of the Finance Team, this position will be heavily involved in financial and operational activities and will collaborate with our functional team across Altos including the Institutes of Science & Medicine, SI3 (Science Integration, Innovation, Insights), and Corporate Groups. The position will support budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, variance analysis, and other ad-hoc projects. This is a great opportunity to influence and implement business processes that can scale as the company continues to grow. This role will be a key part of the Finance team and report to the Global Head of FP&A. We are seeking a candidate who thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and seeks to establish structure in ambiguity. This is a high-impact, executive-facing role that requires someone who is a strong leader, communicator, and strategic thinker.

Responsibilities

Specific responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Serve as a trusted financial advisor for business leadership by providing insightful financial analyses and decision support while optimizing our use of cash
• Partner with cross-functional leaders to coordinate and develop the annual budget and long-range plans for OPEX, capital spend and headcount
• Manage processes related to month-end close including variance analysis and timely and accurate management reporting
• Support/enhance processes and structure for budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning
• Provide financial assessment and guidance for new strategic projects/investments to be presented to the Executive Committee
• Collaborate closely with colleagues in Accounting and Procurement to drive continuous improvement of business processes, advancing systems & capabilities, and achievement of functional goals

Who You Are

Minimum Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or Accounting (MBA preferred but not required)
• 12+ years of relevant experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or consulting environment
• Superior Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills
• Exceptional grasp of forecasting methods and techniques, developing financial reports and metrics across multiple lines of business
• Sound understanding of Finance and Accounting Principles
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to a non-technical audience
• Detail-oriented yet possess the ability to maintain an “80/20” mindset
• Strong analytical skills and business acumen; experienced in developing financial models, leading analysis, and explaining options and implications
• Highly motivated self-starter capable of working under pressure, prioritizing workload to meet deadlines, operating independently with minimal guidance, and exercising extreme ownership for projects and results
• Always seeking to evolve systems, processes, and controls and maximize efficiency
• Willingness to contribute beyond the defined role to meet organizational needs
• Possess a sense of urgency; identifies challenges and problems and takes the initiative to solve them

Preferred Qualifications

• MBA, CPA, CFA a plus, but not required
• Experience with Financial Systems (NetSuite, Point Purchasing, Concur)
• Experience supporting R&D functions in the Drug Development / Pharma Industry
• Experience working in a start-up environment

The compensation available for the role considers a variety of factors including, but not limited to, work location, individual skill set, previous/applicable experience, and other business needs.

Director Salary Range (min-max): $266,050 - $359,950

Sr. Director Salary Range (min-max): $330,660 - $447,350
