About the Role


As a Director, Total Rewards on our People Team, you will own evolution of global compensation and benefits programs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals, compliance with regulations, and fostering an inclusive employee experience


To drive success in this role, you will have exceptional interpersonal skills, strategic thinking, and leadership. As the Director, Total Rewards you will Oversee the development and execution of CG’s Global Total Rewards Framework, encompassing compensation, equity, and benefits programs; manage CG's Global Option Plans from offer to vesting/exercise; conduct benchmarking and analysis of market trends; support Global Mobility programs, ensuring compliance with relocation, immigration, and tax regulations. Regular collaboration with People, Finance, and Legal divisions will be key in elevating Cover Genius' employee experience and global competitiveness by strategically managing Total Rewards, ensuring compliance, and fostering a culture of excellence and inclusion.

Main duties & Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of Cover Genius’ comprehensive Global Total Rewards Framework, overseeing compensation, equity, and benefits programs, and conducting annual remuneration reviews to ensure alignment with strategic objectives.
  • Manage the entire lifecycle of CG’s Global Option Plans, from initial offer stages to vesting and exercise, ensuring seamless execution and compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Conduct thorough benchmarking and analysis of market data and trends, utilizing insights to continuously evaluate and enhance the competitiveness of Cover Genius’ compensation and benefits packages.
  • Provide strategic support for CG’s Global Mobility programs, covering aspects such as relocation, immigration, and tax compliance, to facilitate the smooth transition of international talent.
  • Collaborate with HR Business Partners to deliver expert guidance and support to Geniuses and managers, addressing inquiries on Total Rewards and Global Mobility policies, interpreting compliance requirements, and resolving related issues.
  • Forge strong partnerships with People Team colleagues to ensure alignment of Total Rewards and Global Mobility programs with the overarching HR strategy and company values.
  • Ensure strict adherence to all local and international laws and regulations governing Total Rewards and Global Mobility, collaborating with Senior Partners to maintain compliance across regions.
  • Contribute to special projects and initiatives as needed, including but not limited to the drafting of Board decks, EEOC reporting, gender pay gap survey submissions, and the design of internal policies.
  • Foster close collaboration with cross-functional teams, including Finance and Legal/Company Secretary divisions, to integrate Total Rewards and Global Mobility initiatives seamlessly into the broader organizational framework.

Attributes & experience

  • Demonstrated expertise with over 8 years of professional experience in Total Rewards and Global Mobility, showcasing a track record of successfully implementing and managing comprehensive programs.
  • Proven experience in diverse areas such as Total Rewards, Equity Plans, Global Mobility, People Operations, Employment Taxes, or Law, with a preference for candidates who bring a multidisciplinary background in these areas (preferred but not required).
  • Thorough knowledge of local and international laws and regulations related to Equity and Global Mobility, providing a solid foundation for navigating the complexities of compliance in various regions.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented, with a keen eye for accuracy and precision in managing intricate components of Total Rewards and Global Mobility programs.
  • Exceptional ability to prioritize effectively and manage deadlines, ensuring the timely execution of critical tasks and projects within the dynamic landscape of Total Rewards.
  • Enthusiastic about autonomy and thriving in collaborative team environments, displaying a passion for taking ownership of initiatives while also valuing and contributing to the collective success of the team
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, A postgraduate degree and/or record of academic achievement is also desirable

  • A commitment to staying abreast of industry best practices and emerging trends, driving continuous improvement and innovation in Total Rewards strategies.

Salary Range


The base salary range for this role is between $174,000 and $210,000. The total compensation package also includes equity, and the opportunity for additional earnings through our annual bonus or variable commission plans.
