The UT Child Development Center is part of The University of Texas at Austin and serves children in a warm, play-based, and developmentally appropriate environment. About the Role
As a Flex Teacher, you’ll be a key part of our teaching team, providing support across multiple classrooms and age groups. You’ll step in where needed, ensuring that each child feels safe, respected, and engaged throughout the day. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, works well in a team, and adapts easily to changing needs.
As an Assistant Teacher, you will work mainly in one classroom to support the Lead Teacher and build positive relationships with children and families.
What You’ll Do
• Support teachers in infant, toddler, preschool, and pre-K classrooms as needed
• Engage children in play-based learning experiences
• Maintain a safe, nurturing environment for all children
• Build positive relationships with children, families, and coworkers
What We’re Looking For
• High school diploma or GED (Associate’s or CDA preferred)
• At least one year of experience in early childhood education or a related field
• Flexibility and adaptability to work with different age groups and teaching styles
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• A passion for supporting young children’s development
