Echocardiograph Technologist

Job Description

The Cardiac Sonographer, under the direction of the Department Manager and Lead Cardiac Sonographer, is expected to work independently performing a variety of echocardiography procedures for use in the diagnosis of heart disorders. The Cardiac Sonographer will independently perform transthoracic echocardiograms on adult, children and neonatal patients and prepare a preliminary echo report for review by the interpreting cardiologist. Stress echocardiograms, both pharmacologic and exercise, will be performed by the Cardiac Sonographer with the assistance of a qualified nurse, physician or physician assistant.

Required qualification:

• Graduate of a formal approved Cardiac Sonographer Program Or equivalent educ/experience
  • Five (5) years of experience in the field.

• Required upon hire: National Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer from American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography Or
• Required upon hire: National Certification from Cardiovascular Credentialing International
• Required upon hire: National Provider BLS - American Heart Association
• Required upon hire: A baseline laser eye exam

The amounts listed are the base pay range; additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, standby/on-call, overtime, premiums, extra shift incentives, or bonus opportunities.
