About the PEOPLE Team:
Our editorial team consists of about 200 staff members located across the country and in the UK. At the helm is Wendy Naugle, who joined the brand as Deputy Editor in July 2019 and became Editor-in-Chief this past September.
People delivers the most trustworthy celebrity news and captivating human interest stories, connecting you to the pulse of American culture. Since our first issue hit stands in 1974, we have been striving to tell compelling stories about the people behind the issues, as opposed to just the issues themselves. We are your everyday escape, taking you inside the lives of intriguing stars, newsmakers, up-and-comers and ordinary people doing extraordinary things. We serve and delight you by providing ideas about beauty, food and style through the lens of the people influencing the trends. And we are a force for good by telling stories of hope, optimism and kindness that drive conversation and inspire action.
About the Role:

• Report and quickly write stories for People.com, interviewing high-profile celebrity subjects as necessary
• Fact-check and research stories for the weekly magazine, often under intense deadline pressure
• Cover events, like red carpets, shows and press junkets, as needed
• Because of the nature of news, some late evening and weekend work will be required

About You:

• The ideal PEOPLE intern is a resourceful, independent person who jumps right in and becomes part of the staff-someone with more than a passing familiarity with the lives of famous people, as well as an interest in current events and social issues.
• The candidate should have worked at a campus publication or as an editorial intern-and should be a creative thinker, a self-starter, professional, resourceful and a team player.
• Strong writing skills are a must.
• The candidate must also be enthusiastic and see the big picture but pay close attention to detail, too-a thinker and a doer.
• He/she must also like working in a fast-paced, news-driven environment and should feel comfortable using Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok as reporting tools.

Pay Range
Hourly: $20 - $20
The pay range above represents the anticipated low and high end of the pay range for this position and may change in the future. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees. Other compensation may include annual bonuses, and short- and long-term incentives.
