EHS ASTORIA - MAINTENANCE / CUSTODIAN

Summary : Under the general supervision of the Director or Site Supervisor, the Housekeeper/Maintenance has the primary responsibility for cleaning the center in such a way to promote health and safety while reducing the spread of infection. Essential Functions: • This position is part time ; 2 hours a day after 4pm • Follows and completes the center's daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedule. • Conducts facilities checklists to oversee and meet all local, state, and federal building requirements. • Promptly addresses and reports health and safety concerns. • Performs light general maintenance throughout the building. • Participates in emergency drills and environmental safety activities, as requested • Performs other duties as assigned.Minimum Qualifications: • High School Diploma or equivalency with custodial training preferred • Effective oral and written communication skills commensurate with the position's responsibilities are required. • FDNY certification: F07, S95 and F01or study plan to obtain within60 days of hire.The Child Center of NY is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
