Job Title:Senior Electrical Superintendent Location:Phoenix, AZ Compensation:$125,000 – $225,000 annually (base salary, plus potential bonus and benefits) SUMMARY: Senior Superintendent – Electrical The Senior Superintendent is a highly experienced leader responsible for managing one or several Superintendents and overseeing complex, technical electrical projects. This role requires a seasoned professional with a strong track record of problem-solving, project execution, and team leadership. The Senior Superintendent will report to the Site General Superintendent or General Superintendent, ensuring operational excellence, adherence to project schedules and budgets, and maintenance of safety and quality standards. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: β€’ Lead a large project or multiple projects by supervising one or more Superintendents and their field teams; set expectations, remove constraints, and ensure safe, high-quality execution. β€’ Collaborate with project management to meet schedule, budget, productivity, and quality targets; drive daily/weekly look-ahead planning and coordination meetings. β€’ Assure that staffing projections are accurate and updated weekly. β€’ Monitor and continuously update construction schedules to keep them accurate and actionable throughout the project lifecycle. β€’ Direct material/equipment strategy and procurement for assigned projects; track long-lead items to prevent delays. β€’ Provide proactive problem-solving for technical issues and field challenges; escalate and resolve coordination conflicts across trades. β€’ Ensure installations meet the NEC (NFPA 70), project specs, and all applicable local, state, and federal requirements. β€’ Promote and enforce safety standards and protocols; lead toolbox talks, and pre-task planning; model a safety-first culture. β€’ Facilitate communication among Superintendents, field staff, GC, clients, inspectors, and trade partners; represent the company in site and OAC/coordination meetings. β€’ Coordinate inspections with the AHJ and the GC; support testing, startup, and commissioning activities. β€’ Collaborate with in-house support teams (VDC/BIM, estimating, purchasing, safety, QA/QC) to resolve issues and optimize work plans. β€’ Mentor, coach, and develop Superintendents and future field leaders; deliver clear feedback and support career progression. β€’ Provide input to monthly cost-to-complete (labor/material/equipment) in collaboration with the project management team. β€’ Ensure accurate and timely field documentation (daily reports, JHAs/AHAs, as-builts, test records, timesheet approvals). β€’ Identify and communicate scope changes; support RFIs, submittals, and change order documentation. β€’ Other duties as assigned. COMPETENCIES: β€’ Leadership & Mentorship: Builds high-performing teams; develops next-gen leaders. β€’ Planning & Execution: Look-ahead scheduling, prefabrication planning, constraint removal, takt/phase planning. β€’ Communication: Clear written and verbal communication with crews, GC, owners, inspectors, and internal teams. β€’ Safety Stewardship: Models safe behaviors; sets clear expectations, holds people accountable, and coaches to improve outcomes. β€’ Quality & Compliance: Reads plans/specs, one-lines, and shop drawings; ensures code-compliant, right-first-time installations. β€’ Problem Solving: Rapidly diagnoses field issues and implements practical solutions. β€’ Stakeholder Management: Clear, timely communication with GC, owner, trades, and internal partners. β€’ Digital Fluency: Microsoft 365, Bluebeam, LaborChart, Autodesk Construction Cloud (or similar). REQUIRED EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: β€’ 10+ years of experience in the electrical trade with progressive field leadership (Lead/Foreman/Superintendent). β€’ Active state journeyman or master electrician license in the state of hire (or ability to obtain promptly). β€’ Proven record delivering commercial/industrial projects on schedule and within budget while leading multi-crew operations. β€’ Strong working knowledge of the NEC (NFPA 70); familiarity with NFPA 70E safe work practices. β€’ Proficient reading/interpreting plans, one-lines, shop drawings, submittals, and BIM/VDC coordination outputs. β€’ Proficient with Microsoft Office; working knowledge of Bluebeam, LaborChart, and Autodesk Construction Cloud (or similar platforms). β€’ Cross-trade coordination experience (mechanical, structural, civil, fire/life safety). β€’ Preconstruction support experience (constructability reviews, work plans, logistics, job start-up). β€’ Demonstrated change management skill (scope identification, field documentation supporting change orders). β€’ Strong organization and multi-priority management in a fast-paced environment. β€’ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. β€’ Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record. β€’ OSHA 30 and current First Aid/CPR preferred. β€’ Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities. β€’ Commitment to safety and quality. PHYSICAL DEMANDS: β€’ Must be able to work in extreme indoor and outdoor environmental conditions (heat, cold, rain, sleet, snow). β€’ Must be able to use construction-site sanitary facilities (e.g., portable toilets). β€’ Must wear required personal protective equipment at all times on site (helmet, safety glasses, boots, and gloves at all times; respirator when required). β€’ Must be able to safely climb and work from ladders and stairs. β€’ Must be able to safely operate typical jobsite equipment (scissor lift, boom lift, forklift). β€’ Must be able to crawl, stand, stoop, bend, crouch, kneel, sit, reach, and routinely lift, push, and pull objects up to 50 pounds. β€’ Ability to travel between job sites and work extended or off-shift hours as project needs require.
