Electrician for DOD 8(a) Contractor

Description: A leading DOD 8(a) Contractor, specializing in construction services, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Licensed Master or Journeyman Electrician to join our team. This role involves working on various and challenging projects under Department of Defense (DOD) contracts, ensuring adherence to federal regulations and maintaining high standards of quality. Responsibilities: • Installation and Maintenance: Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures, ensuring compliance with all relevant codes, standards, and DOD specifications. • Troubleshooting: Conduct electrical inspections and diagnose issues, resolving them efficiently. • Project Collaboration: Participate in project planning meetings, contributing to electrical systems design and integration. • Compliance and Quality: Ensure all work meets safety, quality, and efficiency standards as per DOD regulations. • Mentorship: Mentor junior electricians or apprentices, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development. • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of work performed, including logs, reports, and compliance documentation. Requirements: • Minimum of 5 years of experience in commercial or industrial electrical work, with preference for experience in government or DOD projects. • Proficiency in reading blueprints, technical diagrams, and specifications. • Strong understanding of electrical theory, materials, and tools. • Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to safety and compliance. • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. • Physical capability to perform the demanding aspects of electrical work, including climbing, lifting, and working in confined spaces. • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel as needed. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with high voltage systems is highly valued. • Knowledge of DOD 8(a) program requirements and processes. • Certifications in specific areas of electrical work are beneficial but not required.
