Are you an experienced Electronics Engineer with a passion for problem-solving? We're looking for a Troubleshooting Electronics Engineer to join our team and play a critical role in diagnosing, analysing, and resolving hardware issues in Protection Relays and other electronic products. You'll be working hands-on with cutting-edge analogue, digital, optical, and safety technologies, ensuring the highest standards of quality and reliability.

This role offers a blend of fault-finding, root cause analysis, and production support, with opportunities for career development in a dynamic, technology-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose faults in electronic products, down to the component level, using schematics and test equipment.
  • Perform root cause analysis on product failures and implement solutions to prevent recurring issues.
  • Conduct testing and debugging across analogue, digital, optical protection relays.
  • Work closely with design and production teams to analyse failure data and improve product reliability.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to enhance product performance and refine testing methods.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives in troubleshooting, repair, and manufacturing processes.

The Ideal Candidate

  • HNC/BTEC/NVQ/City & Guilds or higher in Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • Substantial experience in electronics testing, troubleshooting, and fault diagnosis.
  • Extensive ability to read and interpret schematics for identifying and resolving faults.
  • Experience in hardware debugging and a solid understanding of electronic components and circuit behaviour.
  • Background in root cause analysis and data-driven problem-solving to prevent recurring issues.
  • Some knowledge of software/hardware integration is beneficial, but hardware expertise is the priority.
  • Experience working with Protection Relays or similar electronic systems is a plus.
