Skills & Qualifications
Lower School English Teacher (language of instruction is English) duties and responsibilities include:
• Knowledge of best practices in language and literacy development
• Preparation and implementation of daily lessons, delivery of assignments, and timely evaluation of all relevant class work and student progress.
• Design and implementation of appropriate, authentic assessments and support of individual student learning styles.
• Timely and proactive communication with parents about student progress.
• Collaboration with other members of the faculty, administration, and staff on experiential, interdisciplinary, and community-based opportunities that add to the school community.
• Active participation in all faculty and staff meetings.
• Effective and timely communication with varied school constituencies.
• Support of divisional and school-wide initiatives through committee work, where appropriate.
• Supervision and/or participation in non-academic activities, including lunch, study hall, and recess supervision.
• Teach students in Grades 1-5 (not all of these grades; but likely one or two different grade levels)

Additional Qualifications
The successful candidate must:
• Have at least bachelor’s degree in education (master’s degree preferred)
• A valid teaching certificate
• Have or be able to obtain AZ fingerprint clearance card
It is preferred that the successful candidate:
• Have or be willing to obtain a valid teaching certificate in the state of Arizona
Working Conditions● Organize and work between office and classroom spaces ● Reach with the hands and arms and use of hands to finger, type, and manipulate computer keyboards and communication devices. ● Additionally, the incumbent must be able to converse in clear English both written and orally, over a telephone and in person. ● Occasionally, incumbent may be required to lift up to 25 pounds, traverse uneven terrain and move about campus, bend and stoop ● Provide own transportation ● Work hours are in accordance with the employee handbook
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $46,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
