Job Title:Elementary Science Teacher
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and knowledgeableElementary Science Teacherwith a passion for teaching foundational concepts inphysics, chemistry, and biologythroughmodern, innovative teaching practices. The ideal candidate will inspire curiosity, foster scientific literacy, and create a hands-on, inquiry-driven classroom environment that prepares students to think critically and solve real-world problems.
Key Responsibilities:
• Teach age-appropriate principles ofphysics (e.g., motion, force, energy), chemistry (e.g., matter, reactions), and biology (e.g., ecosystems, life cycles, the human body)to elementary students using engaging and interactive methods.
• Utilizeinquiry-based learning, project-based instruction, and real-world experimentsto promote deep understanding of scientific concepts.
• Integratemodern teaching toolssuch as digital simulations, virtual labs, coding platforms, and augmented/virtual reality applications to enhance student engagement.
• Develop interdisciplinary STEM units that blend science with technology, engineering, and math, encouraging students to explore how science applies in everyday life.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including English language learners and students with special needs.
• Foster a classroom environment that encouragescollaboration, experimentation, questioning, and problem-solvingthrough the scientific method.
• Align curriculum withNext Generation Science Standards (NGSS)or relevant local/state standards.
• Monitor and assess student learning through performance-based assessments, student portfolios, and reflective activities.
• Communicate regularly with families about student progress and classroom initiatives, providing resources to support science learning at home.
• Participate in schoolwide STEM events, science fairs, and professional development opportunities focused on innovation in science education.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, Science Education, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Valid teaching credential for elementary grades.
• Demonstrated experience or training in teaching elementary-levelphysics, chemistry, and biologycontent.
• Deep understanding ofcurrent best practices in science pedagogy, especially inquiry-based and hands-on learning.
• Strong classroom management skills and a creative, student-centered teaching philosophy.
Preferred Skills:
• Experience using tools likeMystery Science, FOSS Science Kits, Amplify Science, or other interactive science programs.
• Familiarity with coding, robotics, and makerspace tools for integrating STEM learning.
• Enthusiasm for using digital technology, online science platforms, and data collection tools in the classroom.
• Commitment to nurturing a growth mindset, scientific curiosity, and environmental stewardship in students.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $24.00 - $29.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20 – 30 per week
