Email Deliverability Expert

Job Summary:

We are looking for a talented and results-driven Email Deliverability Expert to lead our efforts in achieving high deliverability rates and ensuring our email campaigns reach inboxes. This role will span across our Business Development team as well as our Performance team. The ideal candidate should have a strong technical and engineering background, coupled with extensive experience in eCommerce and/or MarTech.

What you’ll do:

• Develop and execute a strategic email deliverability plan to ensure that our email campaigns reach their intended audiences and achieve optimal engagement rates for both our potential partners and our audience of shoppers.
• Monitor email performance metrics, analyze email delivery data, and implement necessary changes to enhance deliverability and inbox placement.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Marketing, Product, and Client Success to design and implement email campaigns that adhere to industry best practices and compliance standards.
• Continuously monitor and stay updated on industry trends, regulations, and best practices in email marketing, making necessary adjustments to our strategies as required.
• Implement and manage email authentication protocols, such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC, to protect our brand and customers from email spoofing and phishing attacks.
• Advise on the development of email infrastructure, ensuring that our email systems and processes are technically sound and optimized for deliverability and scalability; including warming up IPs/sending domains and developing the sending infrastructure architecture for Engineering.
• Serve as liaison between us and email service providers (ESPs) and other third-party vendors to resolve deliverability issues, improve sender reputation, and maintain strong relationships.
• Act as a point of contact for ISPs and email filtering organizations, actively working to resolve any email delivery challenges or issues.
• Create and maintain comprehensive documentation and reporting on email deliverability efforts and outcomes, providing regular updates to executive leadership.

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
• 6+ years experience in email deliverability, with a strong track record of improving inbox placement and sender reputation.
• Experience in eCommerce and/or MarTech, with a deep understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in these industries.
• Strong technical background, with expertise in email infrastructure, authentication protocols, and email security.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret email delivery data and make data-driven decisions.
• Experience creating complex analyses via Microsoft Excel that analyze various email campaign content details and their implications on email deliverability and performance revenues.
• In-depth knowledge of industry regulations, email best practices, and ISP-specific requirements.
• Knowledge and experience with various Postmaster tools and ESP schemas.
• Experience working with email service providers and third-party vendors to enhance email deliverability, including self-hosted MTAs is a plus.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners.
• A passion for staying up-to-date with latest best practices and industry trends and a commitment to continuous improvement in email deliverability.
