Job Description
Cascade Surgicenter is looking to add an Endoscopy Technician to our growing team of outstanding employees. Located in beautiful Bend, Oregon, Cascade Surgicenter (CSC) is the region’s premiere orthopedic and neurosurgery surgical center which also supports Central Oregon Surgery Center (COSC), specializing in gastrointestinal procedures. COSC’s Endoscopy Technician works with the endoscopy team to treat patients with gastrointestinal problems. Endoscopy Techs will interact with patients, physicians, and nurses to perform duties including but not limited to preparing the room and equipment, assisting with procedures and specimen collection, cleaning, disinfection of equipment, and stocking of inventory. The Endoscopy Tech is accountable for the quality and reliability in completing assigned tasks and in the delivery of patient care.Â
Principal Responsibilities:Â
- Will participate and maintain a culture within Cascade Surgicenter and Central Oregon Surgery Center consistent with the content outlined in the Employee Handbook. Employees will be expected to read, have familiarity with, and embrace the principles contained within.
- Knowledge and ability to prepare set-ups, materials, and equipment for cases as needed and assists gastroenterologists and Registered Nurses with endoscopic procedures as directed. Provide efficient flow and completion of the schedule.Â
- Understands concepts of cleaning, high level disinfection, and sterilization.
- Follows manufacturer’s instructions for use of endoscopes, electronic imaging equipment and troubleshoots equipment to ensure proper function. Maintains a safe environment for personnel and patient safety. Notifies appropriate personnel promptly of equipment problems/repair needs.Â
- Assists in collection and complete labeling of specimens, documentation in specimen log. Communicates with the lab, as necessary.Â
- Validates/refreshes knowledge and skills regularly and attends/participates in assigned in-services and performance improvement opportunities.Â
- Participates in supplies ordering and storage, and resources management.Â
Qualifications
- Current BLS certification or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
- Experience may include unencumbered license as CNA1 or CNA2; one (1) year experience as an endoscopy tech preferred.Â
- Experience in medical terminology preferred.Â
- Must be able to pass a background check and drug screen
Job Details
- Monday – Friday. Four 10-hour shifts, 7:00am – 5:30pm.
- No nights or weekendsÂ
