Job Title: Engineer, Quality Assurance – BBU (EQA1)

Location: Syracuse, New York

Employer: John Mezzalingua Associates LLC d/b/a JMA Wireless

Salary: $136,000 per year

Job Duties:

• Design and deploy end-to-end network for 5G SA and NSA cell setups. Conduct gNB testing with proprietary and ORAN radios.
•  Perform F1AP, NGAP, XN Messages analysis as part of regression testing.
• Work closely with developers for troubleshooting and feature validation.
• Troubleshoot issues, including analyzing logs by enabling PHY, MAC, RLC, RRC messages. Raise defects on JIRA tool.
• Write Python scripts from scratch to automate the work.
• Maintain the stability setup.
• Understand 3gpp specs like 38.321, 38.323 and NAS, RRC specs. Work on Simnovus tools to simulate the UEs for stability run.
• Work on tools like Viavi, Amari soft, Wave Judge, Druid.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, plus 5 years of post-Bachelor’s progressive experience in the position offered or a software testing role or Master’s Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, plus 3 years of experience in the position offered or a software testing role.
• *All of the required experience must have included: performing Python automation with Robot framework; applying knowledge of 4G and 5G technologies and networking tools like TCP/UDP/RTP and signal generators; following 3GPP specifications like NAS and RRC; analyzing logs by enabling protocols PHY, MAC, RLC, and RRC messages; working on features per customer needs by following 3GPP standards; maintaining stability setup using Simnovus and Viavi tools; and using tools and technologies including networking tools (Simnovus, Wave Judge, and Wireshark), Jira, QXDM, TM500, Viavi, Amari soft.
• Telecommuting is permitted from any location in the U.S.
