About the Role:

If you want to work on cutting edge technology with friendly intelligent people in a highly collaborative environment then Gradient AI is the right place for you.  We are looking for an engineering manager to lead a team of software and data engineers who are building AI/ML models for the insurance industry.

How you will make an impact:

• Grow build and lead a world-class engineering team

• Participate in high-level design decisions and execute them

• Work closely with data engineering software engineering and data science team members to create integrated automated processes that support a robust ML Ops workflow

• Be a technical interface for our client implementation team and partners to implement clients

Required Skills:

• 7+ years of experience with software or data development & architecture in an enterprise commercial setting

• 5+ years managing developers helping grow their careers and improve their skills ideally in a hybrid / remote setting

• Strong understanding of software engineering processes and proven track record of facilitating and improving cross team / cross department collaboration

• Strong experience with cloud technologies specifically AWS

• Familiar with databases (Postgres MySQL) and application development (Python Java)

Additional Preferred Skills:

• Familiarity with Airflow Databricks and schema management tools

• Experience transitioning from client-driven development priorities to product roadmap priorities

• Experience as a scrum master for a cross-discipline team

• Experience working in Insurtech or on AI/ML products

Salary Range: $160-205k base salary annually. This role is also eligible for an annual performance bonus equity grant and a comprehensive benefits package. In accordance with the Massachusetts Pay Transparency Law we are providing a good-faith salary range for this position at the time of posting. The actual salary offered will depend on the level at which the candidate is hired as well as their experience skills qualifications and location. Compensation may grow over time through merit-based increases promotions and company-wide adjustments. If your salary expectations fall outside this range we still encourage you to apply so we can have a conversation.
