At Nextdoor, the Ads Engineering organization is responsible for building next-generation Ads platforms focused on serving neighborhoods worldwide, as well as building buying platforms based on the needs of local advertisers and businesses.
We are looking for an experienced ads technology engineering leader to build the next generation of Campaign management platforms and products for advertisers and partners. We are in the early phases of building ads technology, so this leader will define the technical roadmap to deliver scalable, resilient campaign platforms for all types of advertisers, along with collaborating closely with cross-functional teams and engineering teams within Ads Engineering and Nextdoor.

The Impact You’ll Make
You'll recruit and manage engineers and drive the Campaign management platform and product technical design and execution in alignment with the overall Ads strategy. You will partner with product and business peers and the broader Nextdoor Engineering organization. You will define the technical design of the platform and lead execution to support Nextdoor’s product and engineering strategy. Reporting to the Head of Ads Engineering, you will drive projects to deliver value to our large ads customers and small businesses.
Your responsibilities will include:Â
- Developing and leading a diverse, talented, multidisciplinary team through recruiting and mentorship
- Responsibility for the technical roadmap, architecture, as well as execution of deliverables of Campaign Management platform
- Partnering with engineers to execute the strategy
- Responsibility for compliance based on platform guidelines and regulations, GDPR, CCPA etc
- Partnering and collaborating with cross-functional product, engineering, and sales teams across the company to build the roadmap and support operations
- Participate in in-person Nextdoor events, trainings, off-sites, volunteer days, and other team building exercises
- Build in-person relationships with team members and contribute to the KIND culture that Nextdoor valuesÂ
What You’ll Bring To The Team
- 5+ years of industry experience building large-scale systems
- 3+ years of experience leading teams to build engineering platforms and services at scale
- Experience leading leaders - individual contributors, and managers
- Ads domain expertise and tuned to industry trends and best practices
- Demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams
- Clear, concise communication and presentation skills, demonstrating grace under pressure
- Ability to be flexible and adaptable in a dynamic start-up environment
- Genuine curiosity and a hunger for learning
- Strong desire to serve local communities and neighbors worldwide
Bonus Points
- Experience building products for large-scale social platforms
- Experience with Timescale, Kafka, Kotlin
- Experience with cloud infrastructure technologies like : AWS, GCP
Rewards
Compensation, benefits, perks, and recognition programs at Nextdoor come together to create one overall rewards package.
The starting salary for this role is expected to range from $208,000 to $280,000Â on an annualized basis, or potentially greater in the event that your 'level' of proficiency exceeds the level expected for the role. Compensation may also vary by geography.
We also expect to award a meaningful equity grant for this role. With equal quarterly vesting, your first vest date would be within the first 3 months of your start date.
Overall, total compensation will vary depending on your relevant skills, experience, and qualifications.
