Engineering Manager (Super App)

Yassir is the leading super App in the Maghreb region set to changing the way daily services are provided. It currently operates in 45 cities across Algeria, Morocco and Tunisia with recent expansions into France, Canada and Sub-Saharan Africa. It is backed (~$200M in funding) by VCs from Silicon Valley, Europe and other parts of the world.

We offer on-demand services such as ride-hailing and last-mile delivery. Building on this infrastructure, we are now introducing financial services to help our users pay, save and borrow digitally.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for an Engineering Manager, who will set up and lead our tech hub in Egypt. You will be responsible for building and developing an outstanding engineering and product team that supports Yassir's rapid growth. You possess unparalleled strategic thinking, outstanding project management and leadership skills? - then this job is for you!

TASKS

• Work with Yassir's leadership and product managers to understand hiring needs and develop a hiring strategy for Egypt.
• Hire outstanding talents and scale our tech team.
• Manage the local tech and product team, ensure delivery according to the roadmap and coordinate activities with the Egyptian and Algiers offices.
• Contribute to the company culture and be responsible for the success and personal growth of our team in France
• Contribute to the company's overall strategy working closely with the engineering, data and operations teams
• Liaise with our Algiers and Egyptian office and manage the different stakeholders across countries and products

REQUIREMENTS

• At least 10 years of experience and 3 years as an engineering manager.
• Successful track record recruiting outstanding tech talents
• Mobile applications experience - tech background (Native android an/or Ios)
• Outstanding written & verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in an entrepreneurial environment with a demonstrated ability to prioritize, self-start, contribute under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Good understanding of agile methodologies
• Highly organized
• Great interpersonal skills and leadership abilities with a strategic mind
• Excellent project management skills, ideally experience managing remote teams.
• Fluent in English and Arabic - (German or French) is a plus.
• Experience in a rapidly growing company in the mobility or on-demand service space is a plus.
• Startup founder experience (CEO or COO) is a plus.
• BSc/MSc in Engineering, Computer Science or relevant field
