Enrichment Teacher (Contract Position)

This position is an contract (adjunct) position, Mon-Thurs from 4:00 - 7:00 and an occasional weekend Hourly Rate:$15 - $20 per hour What You'll Do • To carry out professional duties and to have responsibility for assigned groups of students. • To be responsible for the day-to-day work and management of the group, along with the safety and welfare of students during on-site and off-site activities. • To promote the aims and objectives of the school and maintain its philosophy towards young adults with neurodiversity such as autism. Your Responsibilities Will Include: • Supervising and assisting students: Ensuring a supportive and stimulating environment conducive to learning • Exhibits proficiency and enthusiasm for the assigned area of expertise and classes • Developing and implementing enrichment programs: Tailoring activities to meet the needs of high-achieving learners, promoting thinking, problem solving and social skills. • Prepares and develops activities, materials, and lessons to meet the learning objectives (skills and content) of the curriculum and standards • Develops and maintains a well-managed classroom where 100% of the students are engaged, consistently challenged, and supported. Classroom policies should be consistent with school policies • Creating a positive learning environment: Fostering creativity and self confidence in students • Always keeps classroom clean, neat and presentable • Engages families into their student’s education and communicates regularly and effectively with students and families • Effectively utilizes best practices in teaching those with neurodiversity • Assists in the ongoing development of Greenleaf’s curriculum and core performance standards • Provides monthly units of study for review by the Head of School • Informs colleagues and Head of School of any academic, behavioral, or personal difficulties that arise with students • Reinforces the school’s core values and policies inside and outside of the classroom • Participates in professional development sessions • Devotes the necessary time and energy required to master the craft of teaching You're a great fit for this role if you have: • H.S Diploma required • Experience with, or studying to be a teacher, social worker or psychology is preferred • Experience with individualized and differentiated instruction and those with autism or intellectual/developmental disabilities • Ability to demonstrate relentless drive to improve the minds and lives of students in and out of school Compensation: • $15 - $20 per hour Work Location:On-Site Who We Are Greenleaf Neurodiversity Community School, a non-profit of Easter Seals Lonestar and affiliate of the Fedcap Group, encourages and empowers individuals with neurodiversity, such as autism, through education and employment in the skilled trades.
