Enterprise Architect

LS Technologies, LLC is seeking two highly motivated, energetic, results-oriented Enterprise Architects. The incumbent will have experience with enterprise strategy, technology insertions/adoption, strategic messaging and critical thinking. A strong background with the FAA NAS is highly desirable, however, experience with government network enterprise architectures is required. The Enterprise Architect will provide strategic engineering, technical and program office support to the Federal Aviation Administration as they consider benefits new and emerging technologies will provide balanced by the security vulnerabilities those technologies will introduce into the support organization.

Specializations

Cloud Computing: This position focuses on integrating cloud computing within the FAA National Airspace System. The successful candidate would support the development of architecture roadmaps and business and technical strategies to bridge the divide between current NAS architectures and what is currently offered via the Cloud solutions in AWS/Azure/GCS. Experience with containers, agile development considerations, NAS systems (or other large-scale mission critical infrastructures) would be a considerable

UAS and UTM: This position focuses on the integration of UAS and UTM within the NAS environment. Work will center on both registration and certificate control for authentication and identity. The candidate will support the development of the UAS infrastructure architecture strategy, accounting for the need to operate within the trust framework.

Responsibilities

The Enterprise Cyber Engineer/Architect will help define and analyze Enterprise Information Management (EIM) and National Airspace System (NAS) data flows from critical infrastructure to data that resides in a non-NAS environment, tracking the complete end to end flow. Key to the architecture design is the requirement to separate data flows to enclaves segmented by priority/sensitivity of traffic. As part of the architecture evolution, this team will develop strategies for the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence technology into the NAS environment as it pertains to network anomaly detection and system mapping of data flows.

Other responsibilities include:

• Provide specialized expertise in the information security needs of the enterprise services
• Participate on a team for providing expert analysis of cybersecurity architecture, compliance with Federal regulation and policy, and commercial best practices relating to cyber security
• Assist with defining the strategies and tactics to protect data/service confidentiality, integrity, and availability
• Work with the enterprise cybersecurity organization to identify appropriate controls, defenses, and remediation
• Review, analyze, discuss, and evaluate the implementation of security controls in multiple information system environments
• Evaluate the performance of ongoing security maintenance, for example, continuous monitoring or continuous diagnostics and mitigation (CDM)
• Strategic planning related to evolution from system based risk evaluation and management to enterprise-level (e.g,. Service thread) risk management
• Support development of strategic plan and conops (including coordinating strategic engagements with communications plan) for transition of organizational responsibilities
• Support development of conops for executing paradigm change in how FAA TechOps manages cyber security of the NAS
• Develop and execute program strategic communications plan. Enhance and manage private-public partnership (P3) engagements and interagency communications
• Support outreach and messaging with FAA stakeholders
• Develop crisis communications conops and plan

Requirements

• 16+ years relevant work experience in security frameworks.
• Experience with Federal policies and directives concerning information technology, cybersecurity, and infrastructure protection is required
• Experience working with FAA NAS or similar industrial control system cybersecurity is highly desirable.
• General Networking skills.
• Self-starter with a high level of personal accountability, strong communication skills and business acumen.
• Ability to interact, develop, engineer and communicate collaboratively at the highest technical levels with customers, vendors, partners, and all members of staff.
• Successful track record of transition and operational implementation of mission critical systems/capabilities into a cloud architecture.
• Experience performing risk assessments of cloud-based systems, designing and/or implementing network, security, virtualization or cloud system solutions.
• Strong communication and technical writing skills necessary to prepare and conduct instruction, provide technical briefings and prepare technical reports and collaborate with other team members.

Education

• BS in engineering, hard sciences, mathematics or related field.
• Advanced degree- preferred Technical certifications desirable, such as: CCNP Security, AWS, FITSP, GIAC, ISACA, CISSP, JNCP, MCSE, VCP/VCAP.
