Job Title:Entry-Level IT/Programmer Location:San Antonio, Texas Job Type:Full-Time Department:Information Technology Reports To:IT Manager / Systems Analyst Position Summary: We are seeking a motivated and detail-orientedEntry-Level IT/Programmerto join our IT team. The ideal candidate will have a foundational knowledge ofCOBOL programming,Linux, andMicrosoft Windowsenvironments, along with basichelpdesk supportexperience. Key Responsibilities: • Maintain and support legacy applications written inCOBOL • Provide first-levelhelpdesk supportto internal users for hardware, software, and system issues (Windows/Linux) • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot basic issues onLinux and Windows servers • Assist in maintaining and updating system documentation • Collaborate with senior developers and IT staff on enhancements and bug fixes • Perform routine system administration tasks and patch management • Support onboarding of new users (hardware/software setup, account provisioning) • Assist with basicnetwork troubleshooting(IP configuration, connectivity, DNS, etc.) Required Qualifications: • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) • Basic knowledge ofCOBOL programming • Familiarity withLinux command lineand file system structure • Understanding ofMicrosoft Windows OSand common administrative tasks • Excellentproblem-solvingandcommunicationskills • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively Preferred/Desired Skills: • Some exposure tonetworking fundamentals(TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN, etc.) • Experience with ticketing systems or IT service desk tools • Understanding of version control (e.g., Git) is a plus • Willingness to learn and take on new challenges What We Offer: • Hands-on experience in multiple IT domains • Supportive team environment with opportunities for training and development • Competitive salary and benefits
