Environmental Service Aide

Education/Experience

Minimum Required:

• Ability to comprehend and follow oral and/or written instructions in order to follow and identify precautions, hazardous material labeling, and other safety related written materials.

Preferred:

• High School Diploma or equivalent. One to two years housekeeping/environmental services and floor care experience.

Work Environment

• Work is performed in areas that require working in close quarters with other employees. Work areas are generally air‐conditioned/heated. Must be physically and mentally capable of performing work assignments effectively and safely without being a hazard to self or others. Able to stand/walk for long periods. Able to lift, push or pull a minimum of 75 lbs. Able to use/wear personal protective equipment in completing daily responsibilities. Able to climb ladders when necessary. Works with chemicals and Regulated Medical Waste. Repetitive motion required. Must be physically able to move furniture using appropriate equipment, operate various battery operated and electric floor care equipment, as well as, transporting hospital beds and large carts of waste and soiled linen through hospital corridors.
