Job Title: Estimator and Project Manager Reports To: VP of Operations FLSA Status: Exempt Summary: This position provides quoting support and generates new business opportunities. Including overseeing jobs and major projects to ensure customer satisfaction and budget control. This includes preparing timely, complete, accurate estimates to support the sales process. The ability to manage projects from contract requirements through to completion. Our ideal candidate will be an organized, motivated self-starter with specified experience within the construction industry. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: To perform this job successfully, the individual must be able to perform each of the primary duties satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. 1. Actively plan, execute, monitor and reschedule (as needed) field activities to manage project completion to scheduled commitments. This includes the authority to direct daily schedules and overtime needed to maintain project schedules. 2. Produces quotes from leads, technician follow ups, and direct contact with customers. In most cases this may require a site visit. 3. Quote project plans based on the customer’s scope, budget and site. 4. Ensure the required parts and components are ordered. 5. Involve Field Manager/Operations Team to approve labor and equipment as part of the estimating process. 6. Develop timely, complete, accurate estimates to support the sales process. 7. Monitor the project from the planning stage through to execution and completion. 8. Troubleshoot project issues and complications as they arise, putting processes in place to prevent the same issues from occurring again. 9. Manage project budget, including cost of materials, labor hours, travel and equipment rentals. 10. Resolve cost discrepancies through data analysis and information gathering. 11. Process bidding, scope of work documents, contracts, and other project-related paperwork. 12. Visiting project sites to complete a job walk and gathering the necessary information and pictures to prepare a complete estimate. 13. Propose value-engineering solutions to optimize costs while maintaining project quality. 14. Ensure estimates are coordinating with project management and field operations teams to ensure they expect to be able to perform project within estimates. 15. Manage customers throughout the process. 16. Collaborating with management and Field Manager to allocate field resources to balance project requirements. 17. Managing subcontract execution requirements. 18. Managing and scheduling equipment to support field operations. 19. Other duties, as assigned. Additional Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Prepares and submits all required paperwork on a timely routine basis. 2. Exhibits good housekeeping practices in all work areas. 3. Be the primary point of contact for the Field Manager and VP of Operations regarding jobs. 4. Manage equipment and material inventory for project. 5. Work to increase team efficiency and uphold high standards of safety at all times. 6. Build and maintain strong relationships with subcontractors, vendors, and internal team members. 7. Covering for peer project managers in their absence. Qualifications / Education / Skills and Experience: 1. Two (2) years of experience as a lead estimator and project manager. 2. Ten (10) plus years’ experience with the pipe fitting processes and three (3) plus years’ experience in a supervisory role on a job site is preferred. 3. Five (5) years of office and field management or technical services experience. 4. Demonstrated industrial construction/maintenance knowledge in mechanical, electrical and/or plumbing is preferred. 5. Proficiency in MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook, is required. 6. Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to present information clearly and professionally. 7. Close attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously and have excellent follow up skills both internally and externally 8. Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and interpersonal skills. 9. Time management skills and the ability to manage multiple projects at one time. 10. Self-motivated with the ability to adapt and excel in a fast-paced, constantly changing environment. 11. Strong math skills, with the ability to interpret and work with blueprints and prepare material lists. 12. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 13. Must be self-motivated and punctual. 14. Demonstrate ability to lead others and provide detailed instructions. Physical Demands: Must be able to work in a physically demanding environment, including the ability to lift up to 20 pounds. Also requires frequent bending and lifting, standing and walking over uneven terrain or in confined spaces. Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
