Estimator - Systems Engineer

AG Consulting Engineering, PC (AG), a design, engineering, and construction management firm headquartered in New York is looking for an Estimator – Systems Engineer to develop and assess cost estimates for our NYC MTA client. Location is in Manhattan Position:Estimator – Systems Engineer Location: Manhattan, New York Project:MTA Projects RESPONSIBILITIES The Estimator - Systems Engineer shall: A. Develop and assess cost estimates in accordance with the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE), Class 1-5 estimating standards, utilizing standardized B&T BU methodologies. B. Utilize construction estimating software and support tools (e.g., Bluebeam, RS Means Online) to improve accuracy and efficiency in estimating. C. Generate change order estimates and perform bid analyses by comparing estimated values with actual post-bid outcomes. D. Provide estimating support for value engineering, constructability reviews, and indirect rate analysis, as necessary. E. Design, develop, and oversee MS Power Platform applications, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI dashboards, to enhance estimating, scheduling workflows, and data visualization. F. Establish, manage, and optimize Structured Query Language (SQL) databases to ensure efficient storage and retrieval of project estimating data. G. Manage and customize SharePoint sites to enhance departmental collaboration and information sharing. H. Develop advanced Excel models (pivot tables, macros, VBA scripts) and apply AI prompt engineering actions to automate workflows and improve data analysis. I. Combine diverse digital tools and platforms to build cohesive systems that streamline Project estimating and reporting, ensuring smooth data flow and efficient communication. J. Use CPM scheduling methodology to interconnect data structures between software platforms including Microsoft Project, P6 Primavera, Planner, and other B&T BU internal data platforms. K. Other related work, as necessary. EXPERIENCE REQUIRMENTS The Estimator - Systems Engineer’s resume must illustrate evidence of: A. A bachelor’s degree in project management, Construction Management, Construction Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field. Master’s Degree is, preferred. B. A minimum of five (5) years of experience in construction estimating preparation. C. A minimum of two (2) years of experience using Power Platform and Power BI in the application development of digital systems. D. Demonstrated experience with Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering (AACE), Class 1-5 Estimating Standards. E. A minimum of three (3) years of experience in reviewing estimates to ensure compliance with scope of work as defined in contract documents. F. Demonstrated leadership, coordination, communication, and negotiation skills. G. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, macros, VBA scripting). H. Demonstrated knowledge of AI prompted to design and implement AI-driven solutions to enhance productivity. I. A minimum of three (3) years of experience with construction estimation software (e.g., Bluebeam, RS Means Online). J. Demonstrated experience using project management software (e.g., Microsoft Project, P6 Primavera, Planner) and proficient in CPM scheduling methodology. K. Demonstrated knowledge of applications such as Excel, Access, Word, and Asite. Power Platform Fundamentals (or equivalent), preferred. A.G.
