Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled Estimator/ Project Manager. The ideal candidate will possess strong project management skills and a deep understanding of construction estimating processes. The Estimator/Project Manager is expected to satisfy our obligation to our customers in a safe and cost-effective manner. The Estimator/Project Managers define the scope of work, provide estimates for cost, and determine the price for assigned projects. They plan and facilitate the execution of awarded projects and they maintain successful relationships between Lombardo and its customers. Estimator/Project Managers are responsible for maintaining accurate records on projects, including project setup, schedules, and tracking costs from the pre-construction to the post-construction phase. They prepare reports and are responsible for multiple projects.
A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. The Estimator/Project Manager is responsible for creating professional estimates keeping in line with predetermined revenue targets and profitability.
Estimators/Project Managers are responsible for the representation of the company’s image. The Estimator/Project Manager manages a territory in order to create leads to acquire opportunities to price work for contractors, sub-contractors, as well as home owners. They are the primary liason between Lombardo’s customers and our dispatchers and operators. The efforts of the Estimator/Project Manager are crucial to the success of the company.
Responsibilities
• Make accurate quantity surveys and estimate the cost of labor, equipment, materials and subcontractor's work, ascertaining that all areas have been accounted for prior to submitting estimate for review
• Bid on projects as assigned
• Forecasting, budgeting, tracking, and achieving monthly, quarterly, and quarterly revenue targets and goals
• Order and review Plans and Specifications
• Estimate value of Lombardo’s services using company estimating software, pricing matrixes, and historical data.(Job complexity and value will dictate checks on pricing
• Work with subs and vendors for job pricing as needed
• Review bids before distribution to customer with manager, as needed
• Send bid to customer, follow up and track results
• Verify bid proposal matches customer contract
• Negotiate proposal vs. contract discrepancies with customer if necessary
• Project setup, works with admin to prepare all required documentation and files
• Manage the daily details of the project, including purchases, subcontracting, changes and coordination of office and field activities during the construction period
• Work with customer and superintendent if project issues occur that are beyond the scope of operations
• Prepare progress and final billing on all projects; and
• Respond promptly to billing complaints and problems on the job
Qualifications
• Strong knowledge of sales and estimating concepts
• Proven experience in construction estimating with a focus on commercial or residential projects
• Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices.
• Excellent project management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively
• Strong negotiation skills with a track record of securing favorable contract terms
• Ability to analyze complex data sets and make informed decisions based on findings
• Familiarity with cost control techniques and methodologies in the construction industry
• Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
• Proficiency in Sage 100 Contractor is preferred
• MBA or BS Construction Management or equivalent. Appropriate work experience may be substituted for a college degree.
• 3 to 5 years of job-related experience is preferred.

Pay: $150,000.00 - $166,000.00 per year
