Executive Sous Chef

The Marriott Jacksonville is a brand leader in our foodservice operation and we are seeking the right candidate to join our well established team. Previous experience and an excellent, team-oriented vision are required. Our hotel is part of a growing portfolio and this is an excellent way to kickstart your Culinary career. There may be opportunities to work in a travelling position to assist our other properties. There may also be opportunities for advancement into an Executive Chef position, based on performance and tenure. The Sous Chef is essentially the Assistant to the Executive Chef. This is a 100% hands on cooking position while also assisting in keeping the kitchen running smoothly in a Management capacity. • Supervising Culinary team while working alongside them daily. • Assisting with stocking and setting up the kitchen stations • Preparing food including cleaning and cutting the ingredients and cooking main dishes, desserts, appetizers and snacks • Plating prepared foods based on Chef’s guidance and company specifications • Working with servers to ensure that orders are completed according to request and on time • Washing and cleaning the kitchen and cooking utensils and storing the equipment at the end of shifts • Ensuring that the kitchen operation procedures and hygiene meet food safety standards and regulations • Cooks food items by grilling, frying, sautéing, and other cooking methods to specified recipes and standards. • Performs inventory checks and completes food storage logs Ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years Kitchen experience and 2+ years of Supervisory or Management experience Job Type: Full-time Pay: $54,000.00 - $58,000.00 per year Benefits: • 401(k) matching • Dental insurance • Flexible schedule • Health insurance • Paid time off • Vision insurance Work Location: In person
