Position Overview We are seeking an Experienced Tax Manager to join our leadership team. This individual will take ownership of complex and high-value tax engagements, provide strategic tax planning and consulting to clients, and oversee multiple teams to ensure exceptional service delivery. The ideal candidate is a seasoned tax professional who thrives on building long-term client relationships, developing talent, and driving firm-wide growth and innovation. This is a high-impact role for a professional ready to step beyond compliance and contribute at a strategic leadership level. Key Responsibilities • Lead and oversee preparation, review, and delivery of advanced tax filings (individuals, partnerships, S-corps, C-corps, trusts, multi-state entities). • Provide forward-looking tax planning and advisory services to clients with complex needs, including business owners and high-net-worth individuals. • Manage a portfolio of key client relationships, ensuring proactive communication, trust-building, and strategic guidance. • Supervise, mentor, and inspire multiple staff and senior accountants; lead training initiatives and performance development. • Collaborate with partners and firm leadership on business development, client service strategy, and operational improvements. • Monitor and interpret changes in federal, state, and local tax laws; communicate implications to clients and incorporate into firm policies. • Champion process improvements, technology adoption, and best practices to enhance efficiency and profitability. • Ensure compliance, accuracy, and audit readiness across all engagements under management. Key Qualifications • CPA or EA designation required. • 10+ years of progressive tax experience, including significant experience with complex business and individual returns. • Prior experience in a Tax Manager role with demonstrated leadership of multiple staff members and engagements. • Strong technical knowledge of tax regulations, planning strategies, and compliance standards. • Expertise in ProConnect, Lacerte, and Excel; ability to optimize technology use across teams. • Proven ability to develop client relationships at the executive level and provide strategic advisory guidance. • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
