Express Onboarding Services Intern

Model N is looking for college students (who have completed their junior year) ready to jump start their career exposure with an internship. We offer unparalleled hands-on experience working in an exciting yet challenging industry. You will have the opportunity to get to know the other Model N interns and participate in workshops and trainings designed just for you and your peers. In addition, each week there will be time for additional learning through LinkedIn Learning on topics to help you develop your skills and business acumen.

As an intern with the Express Onboarding Services team, you will experience a supportive learning environment, opportunities to participate in meaningful work and have some fun! You will meet and work with kind and inspiring Model N’ers, become a member of the team and have access to Model N leaders.

You will create a reusable offline manual calculation tool for Model N Government Pricing calculations. 

These calculations will serve as proof that our Powered by N GP system is producing accurate calculations and help troubleshoot any issues and discrepancies from the system. 

This should be a reusable, easy-to-change and dynamic tool that would automatically process GP calculation results with any change/addition/deletion of source data in the model. 

This is a tool that will greatly cut costs across our entire Government Pricing organization, including our EOS, MBS, PS and even future Advisory teams, as every client’s manual calculations require a large amount of manual effort and hours for every single change. 

Responsibilities:

• You will focus on determining the best set of technologies to develop this automated tool (Excel, Power Pivots, Cognos, Tableau, Access DB, etc.) 
• You will receive a 1 week training on Government Pricing and our current manual calculations and have a 7 week timeline to produce the automated tool that will produce a complete Monthly AMP calculation using dynamic datasets. 
• This will be an excellent opportunity to develop, enhance and prove your Data Analytics skills. 

Qualifications:

• Self-driven, highly motived
• Interest in Data Analytics with a strong desire to use, explore and develop user-friendly tools with minimal supervision
• Excellent Excel skills with good understanding of VLOOKUPs and Pivot Tables
• Understanding of Accounting Principles
• Experience with coding languages such as Python and/or Java
• Reporting experience with tools such as Cognos and/or Tableau
• Deep understanding of Power Pivots in Excel
• Experience and understanding of Relation databases such as Oracle, SQL Server and/or Access

Compensation

• This internship will be paid hourly ($20-$22/hour).
