External Communications Manager

Overview

We are seeking an experienced External Communications Manager to join the growing Brand team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing all aspects of our media and influencer relations strategies and play an integral role in achieving our technology, consumer, and policy goals. This role will be responsible for building and nurturing strong relationships with key media outlets and influencers and will report to our Director, PR & Communications to ensure our messaging is consistent across all external platforms. This role is based at AIR COMPANY HQ in Soho, NY.

The range for this role is $100,000-$130,000. Exact compensation may vary based on the market, experience, skills and technical expertise.

Responsibilities

• Manage and execute a comprehensive external communications strategy that aligns with our company's overall goals and objectives.
• Identify new opportunities for media coverage by collaborating deeply with agency partners.
• Build and maintain relationships with key media outlets and influencers that support our brand strategy.
• Create and manage materials for all external communications campaigns ensuring that messaging is consistent and compelling across all external platforms.
• Oversee an influencer strategy that increases brand awareness for new product announcements and integrates educational storytelling through our consumer products.
• Analyze data and performance metrics to measure the effectiveness of campaigns and make data-driven decisions to optimize future campaigns.

Preferred Skills

• 5+ years of experience in public relations and influencer management, either in-house or at an agency.
• Demonstrated success in building and maintaining relationships with media outlets and influencers in the consumer lifestyle, technology, or related industries.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to generate and disseminate complex information to key stakeholders.
• The ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects simultaneously in an organized manner.
• Experience in managing messaging related to sustainability and/or new technologies is a plus.
• Strategic self-starter willing to roll up sleeves to get the job done.
