Job Description:
We are looking for a fabrication press brake operator for our busy HVAC company. This position is operating a fabrication press brake machine, CNC machine and more to produce a variety of parts which must meet dimensional specification of mechanical engineering drawings.
Schedule:
Swing Shift: Monday – Thursday, 3:15 PM – 1:45 AM
(Includes 10% shift differential)
Key Responsibilities:
• Operate press brake and other CNC machinery in the fabrication department
• Input and adjust data using CNC controller
• Adjust ram and back gauge per process control instructions and drawings
• Perform advanced programming on the press brake
• Program CNC to produce new parts to spec
• Conduct operator-level maintenance
• Read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings
• Select appropriate punches and dies based on material type and thickness
• Set up tooling, load programs, and configure machine parameters
• Maintain high quality standards with attention to detail
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Follow all company rules, policies, and safety standards
• Work effectively with minimal supervision, independently or as part of a team
• Demonstrate flexibility and willingness to assist where needed
Required Skills & Qualifications:
• Ability to read, write, and speak English
• Strong math skills, including fractions and decimal conversions
• Ability to read and use calipers and tape measures
• Experience operating press brake machinery
• Ability to read and interpret mechanical engineering drawings
• Familiarity with sheet metal types (Galvanized, Stainless Steel, Aluminum)
• Basic AutoCAD knowledge is a plus
Minimum Requirements:
• Able to read a tape measure (testing required)
• Willingness and availability to work overtime as needed
• Ability to lift up to 60 lbs
• Strong attendance record and reliable transportation
• Must pass pre-employment, post-accident, and random drug screenings
