Fabrication Project Coordinator Location: La Porte, TX Company: Bayou City Industrial Contractors Job Summary Bayou City Industrial Contractors is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Fabrication Project Coordinator to join our team in La Porte, TX. This role will support the fabrication shop by coordinating projects, managing schedules, tracking materials, and ensuring timely execution of deliverables. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, excellent organizational abilities, and experience in fabrication or heavy industrial construction environments. Key Responsibilities Coordinate day-to-day activities of fabrication projects from initiation to completion. Develop, update, and monitor fabrication schedules to ensure timely delivery of work. Serve as a liaison between project managers, shop supervisors, engineering, and field teams. Track materials, tools, and equipment needed for fabrication jobs. Assist in preparing project documentation, including work orders, schedules, and progress reports. Ensure all fabrication work aligns with quality, safety, and client specifications. Support procurement by coordinating with vendors and suppliers as needed. Communicate project updates, changes, and issues to management in a timely manner. Maintain accurate project records and support closeout documentation. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in project coordination, scheduling, or fabrication support (industrial or construction preferred). Strong understanding of fabrication processes, materials, and shop operations. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook); scheduling software knowledge is a plus. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities. Knowledge of safety and quality standards in industrial construction/fabrication. Familiar with Isometric Drawings, Construction Codes, Paint & Material Specs Preferred Qualifications Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field. Experience working in a fabrication shop or industrial construction environment. Familiarity with project management software (Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar).
