The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness and orderliness of our facilities, contributing to the overall positive environment for our members, staff, and visitors. Responsibilities: Perform routine cleaning tasks, including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and vacuuming, to ensure all areas of the facility are well-maintained. Clean and sanitize restrooms and replenish supplies as needed. Empty trash receptacles and dispose of waste in accordance with established procedures. Monitor and replenish cleaning and maintenance supplies to ensure an adequately stocked inventory. Assist in setting up and breaking down spaces for events, meetings, and services. Perform minor maintenance tasks, such as changing light bulbs, fixing toilets, and reporting any issues to the Director of Facilities. Operate and maintain cleaning equipment, such as vacuum cleaners and floor buffers, in a safe and efficient manner. Collaborate with other staff members to coordinate cleaning schedules and address specific needs for events or activities. Ensure compliance with safety and sanitation standards, following established protocols for handling cleaning chemicals. Respond promptly to maintenance requests and emergencies. Occasional event work, including evenings and weekends, such as serving, cleaning and moving tables, and light kitchen cleaning. Qualifications: Previous custodial or janitorial experience is preferred. Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision. Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean and orderly environment. Good communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other staff members, members of the congregation, and parents at the cdc@cbi. Basic knowledge of cleaning chemicals and equipment. Physical ability to perform tasks that may require lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
