Facility Janitor

POSITION/TITLE: Facility Janitor REPORTING: Facilities and Campus Services CLASSIFICATION: Part-time, Non-exempt, 20 hours/week HOURS: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri, evening hours, occasional weekend hours due to special events POSITION SUMMARY We are looking for a facility janitor to perform complete facility custodial duties, in addition to assisting with room setup/tear down. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Janitorial · All janitorial tasks for the campus, including but not limited to: sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, dusting, baseboards, windows, restrooms, and trash. · Provide custodial services for special events and wash and maintain linens. · Assist with maintaining inventory of custodial supplies and equipment. Event Coordination and Set Up · Assist with setup and teardown for meetings, classes, special events, and Sunday events · Provide excellent customer service for all McDowell group or facility rental meetings/events, to ensure all set up is correct, everything is in working condition, temperature is adjusted as needed, and any other needs are met. · Wipe down surfaces, remove trash from various rooms inside the building and place it in the proper receptacle, and ensure all furniture and supplies are put away. · Ensure the facility is locked and secured after evening group meetings and events. QUALIFICATIONS · High School Diploma or equivalent preferred · Previous facilities janitorial experience preferred. KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND/OR ABILITY · Knowledge of basic custodial materials and equipment · Able to operate small machinery and tools · Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously · Excellent customer service skills · Dependable, responsible, and self-motivated. Able to work with minimal supervision · Ability to reach, bend, stoop, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.
