There is an immediate career opportunity available for a Principal Subject Matter Expert to support our Technical Sales organization within the UOP Process Technologies (UPT) organization located in the US.
Use your broadly recognized subject matter expertise and strong communication skills to influence customers toward Honeywell solutions in Fluid Catalytic Cracking (FCC). The successful candidate will have very strong technical expertise in UOP offerings in FCC, Resid FCC (RFCC), and FCC for maximizing light olefins as well as strong knowledge of competitor's FCC technologies such as HS-FCC, DCC, MCC, Maxofin, SRDC. You will prepare Technical Proposals, provide both external and internal consultations, and will help Honeywell teams develop and maintain the right product messaging, customer support, and training. The successful candidate will lead a pivot in focus to our FCC Revamp business by identifying and driving closure on key revamp opportunities. This will require expertise in all of our upgrade options and their techno-economic value propositions. You will complete full technical proposals, maintain technology proposal templates for TSE, and develop tools to automate the work process. You will participate in pursuit strategy planning, prioritization, proposal execution, guarantee exception process, contracts, and customer negotiations. You may consult prospective users on product capability. You may provide valuable input for product development.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead initial customer-facing activities to develop a pipeline prior to the issuance of ITB
- Manage strategic alliance relationships in your technology area
- Work with Sales, Engineering, and Business to develop technical proposals, presentations, engineering and guarantee agreements, guarantee and pricing strategies
- Lead strategy and execution of tools and procedures improvements to drive efficiency in FCC revamp proposals
- Maintain proposal tools including PEDs tools and Yield Estimating Tools.
- Deliver yield estimates for internal and external projects
- Analyze growth opportunities and product development needs
- Be the key subject matter expert and coach internally and externally on FCC, RFCC, high propylene FCC, and competitor FCC technologies
- Identify flow schemes that provide the most techno-economically attractive solution for a given Sales opportunity
- Set strategy and manage the execution of proposal activities
- Lead customer meetings for bid clarifications, technology updates, technical proposal review, and general positioning of respective technologies
- Develop Capital Cost Estimates, Preliminary Equipment Design, and Utility Summaries for FCC technologies
- Drive a right-sized approach to help Sales respond to client requests with less work-intensive products (lower cost of sales investment) sufficient to help the customer progress to the next stage of their project development
You must have:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering
- Extensive experience (8+ years) in FCC technology (inside or outside of UOP)

- Strong knowledge and experience in FCC revamps including knowledge of upgrade options, YE correlations, how to interpret and utilize customer data, and UOP technology impacts (RxCat, AF Packing, Optimix, VSS, etc)
