Job Description:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Electrical Technician III to join our team. This role requires advanced knowledge in troubleshooting and maintaining variable frequency drives (VFDs), programmable logic controllers (PLCs), and 480-volt motor control systems in industrial or commercial environments. The ideal candidate is a hands-on technician with a strong understanding of complex electrical systems and a commitment to safety and efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
• ; Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain VFDs from major manufacturers (e.g. Toshiba, AllenBradley, ABB, Siemens, etc.)
• ; Perform diagnostics and maintenance on PLC-based control systems
• ; Install, wire, and test 480V motor controls and related equipment
• ; Read and interpret electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
• ; Execute preventive maintenance routines and document all work performed
• ; Work independently or with a team on control system upgrades, installations, and emergency repairs
• ; Ensure all work complies with NEC, OSHA, and company safety standards
• ; Assist in the commissioning of new systems and support start-up operations
Qualifications:
• ; Minimum 5 years of experience in an industrial or commercial electrical setting
• ; Strong proficiency in troubleshooting VFDs and motor control systems
• ; Experience working with and programming PLCs (Allen-Bradley preferred)
• ; Ability to safely work with 480V systems and understand lockout/tagout procedures
• ; Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills
• ; Strong attention to detail and documentation
• ; Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in confined spaces or elevated areas when required
Preferred Certifications (not required but a plus):
• ; Journeyman or Master Electrician License
• ; OSHA 10/30 Certification
• ; VFD and/or PLC manufacturer-specific training or certification
