Field Specialist

Responsible for providing support to the Service Center Manager related to all areas of operation which will organize and direct functions, and activities related to the procurement, servicing, operation, maintenance, and repair of rod pumping units. As the Field Specialist, I will be responsible for coordinating and directing personnel, resources, and communications to meet business needs, as well as helping to drive process improvements to help management and operations make tactical and strategic decisions.

Minimum Requirements 

• 5+ years’ experience in the Beam Pumping Unit Field 
• 1+ year(s) experience in the Linear style Pumping Units 
• Rotaflex experience preferred 
• Knowledge of Hours of Service and Oilfield Exemption rules 
• Travel experience to multiple jobs per day 
• Work overtime, weekends, and holidays as required 
• Work independently and without supervision 
• Valid state-required driver’s license 
• Must have a clean driving record 
• NCCCO crane certification is preferred but not required 

Responsibilities 

• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical problems with oilfield equipment (Rod Pumping Units) 
• Provide subject matter expertise on Beam and Linear Pumping Units 
• Develop and maintain relationships with customers built on exceptional knowledge, quality, and reliability 
• Ability to sell Lufkin Services to potential new customers 
• Assist in closing out every month by getting signed field tickets from customers
• Provide support to field service crews by resolving any problems that may arise, and fill in as needed on field service crews 
• Proactively understand the needs of the fleet including coordination with the supervisor on vehicle standards and quantities 
• Train in areas of safety efforts such as pumping unit lock out tag out, DOT-FMCSA laws, and pumping unit rigging 
• Assists with equipment efforts such as crane rig up 
• Train in areas of equipment efforts such as bucket truck aerial lift 
• Train in areas of product efforts such as multi-jack bolt tensioner, beam pumping unit assembly, long stroke unit assembly, beam pumping unit inspection, linear pumping unit inspection, unit alignment, pumping unit brake system, pumping unit stroke change, structural bearing replacement, well pump re-space, and wireline removal and installation
• Other projects as required

Essential Characteristics

• Experience in Beam Pumping Unit and Linear style Pumping Unit fields 
• Ability to handle multiple simultaneous projects, business sensitive and confidential information, and prepare detailed records or reports

• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related database software packages
• Strong problem solving, quantitative, and analytical skills 
• Strong oral and written communication skills

• Strong project management, time management, and organizational skills with a proven ability to meet daily, weekly, and monthly deadlines
