Our flagship campus is in Sydney. We also have a campus in Melbourne and co-working spaces in Brisbane Perth and Adelaide. But you have choice in where and how you work we trust our Canvanauts to choose the balance that empowers them and their team to achieve their goals.

Our preference is for the role to be based in Sydney however we would consider remote applicants within Australia.

About the FP&A Team

Our Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team drives superior outcomes for Canva financial and beyond. We are a highly collaborative team made up of skilled people with a broad range of experience from companies such as Google Zoom Atlassian and eBay. We need YOU to help Canva keep moving fast as we continue to build a world-class FP&A function.

You will use your curiosity to uncover information beneath the surface apply your analytical mindset to turn that information into clear insights and draw on your interpersonal skills to deliver those insights to our key partners in an engaging and informative way.

Joining a team of more than 40 in FP&A and a broader Finance team of around 170 you will accelerate your growth as we invest in your development through mentorship and opportunities to learn from the best in the industry. What you’ll be doing

We have a 14 fixed-term contract role (parental leave cover) partnering with the People Group.

At Canva we’re all constantly striving towards our Crazy Big Goals! Since growing to a worldwide team of over 5000 we need to ensure we’re working as effectively and efficiently as possible which is where our People Group come in! The Group includes teams such as People Operations Canva University Growth and Impact Internal Coaching and People Partnering all of whom support our global team.

In FP&A no two days are the same. You will be part of a collaborative and supportive environment where your growth is encouraged. You will spend your time engaging with People business leaders providing financial analysis and insights and contributing to a wide variety of impactful project work.

You will be primarily involved in:

• Business Partnering - Engage with People leaders to understand their goals/strategy and connect them to Canva’s broader company objectives and success. You will build trust drive engagement and continue to grow a meaningful partnership journey with your stakeholders strengthening FP&A’s role as a trusted partner.

• Planning and Analysis - The bread and butter of FP&A teams is to provide clear commentary analysis set budgets and prepare accurate quarterly reforecasts. You will develop your ability to tell a compelling story with data through a range of formats for the business (and yes we love using Canva).

• Project Work - Alongside business partnering and FP&A activities you will contribute to project work and other impactful initiatives. This may include producing return on investment assessments developing business cases or improving processes. You will have the opportunity to work cross-functionally on projects that support broader team or company goals.

You're probably a match if you

• Have experience in budgeting forecasting and financial analysis within a commercial environment.

• Have a natural curiosity and a hunger for continuous learning

• A succinct and engaging communicator (your resume is a great way to show this)

• Have aspirations of becoming a strategic finance business partner.

• Have some experience working with non-finance stakeholders.

• Thrive in chaos embracing challenges with high adaptability.

• Aknack for storytelling with data

• Have a bias for action and problem solving

• Have the ability to adapt your communication style to both technical and non-technical

• Have a keen eye for setting up processes and improving efficiency

• Have experience with BI tools or Anaplan is a plus.
