  • The FA&R Manager is a key role within Accounting & Controllership Team who: (1) leads the financial, management and regulatory reporting; (2) fulfills people management responsibilities; (3) manages internal controls, audit and compliance activities related to Finance function; (4) manages Finance initiatives and priorities; (5) handles administrative functions, as necessary.

Preferred skills (heading) / Compétences particulières (titre)

  • In depth experience in financial and management reporting (local and group reporting)
  • Knowledge and expertise in tax rules and regulations and various accounting standards such as IFRS and local statutory requirements.
  • Preferably, with prior exposure to life insurance accounting standards, practices and regulations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Project management skills (planning, time management and priority management); able to meet internal and/or external deadlines.

Qualifications (heading) / Compétences (titre)

  • Bachelor’s degree in accountancy
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent designation
  • Exposure to IFRS 17 and 9 is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Business and Corporate finance and actuarial systems
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, products and related accounting issues

Responsibilities (heading) / Responsabilités (titre)

Financial Accounting and Reporting

  • Lead group and local reporting activities, including financial, management, regulatory reporting). The said responsibility covers (but not limited to):
  • Managing the overall completion of the end-to-end monthly and quarterly financial statement closing process, including completion of reporting deliverables (including IFRS 17 reporting)
  • Managing capital assets and lease accounting.
  • Managing reconciliation activities, involving completion of reconciliation packages to ensure full compliance with the Accounts Reconciliation Standard, monitoring, escalation and resolution of reconciling items.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams (Finance, Actuarial, ALM, Regional Accounting and Control teams) to ensure a smooth closing process and timely completion of deliverables.
  • Driving completion of local reporting requirements such as annual audited financial statements, corporate annual report, and quarterly reports required by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Philippine Insurance Commission.
  • Manage tax reporting requirements and support work needed on tax examinations.
  • Lead the documentation of processes and procedures involving financial accounting and reporting.

​People Management

  • Manage team members, including driving performance management activities and overseeing / reviewing their tasks and deliverables
  • Coach direct reports and other FA&R team members

Internal Controls, Audit and Compliance

  • Drive process and control improvements to enhance operating effectiveness and generate efficiencies.
  • Periodic review and updating of existing guidelines, processes, and procedures.
  • Manage external and internal audit activities.
  • Manage compliance, RCSA, ORE reporting processes insofar as FA&R teams are involved.

Finance Initiatives and Priorities

  • Manage system enhancements, process documentation / improvements, preparation of requirements for new products and other Finance priorities.
  • Drive the delivery of Finance projects and priorities.

Administrative Functions

  • Organize and maintain filing/monitoring of all documents submitted to IC, BIR and SEC, in hard copies (if required) and scanned copies.
  • Manage internal stakeholders, auditors and regulators related to the assigned tasks.
