We partner with local municipalities, agencies, and entities to provide comprehensive management, operations, and maintenance support, including drivers, call center staff, dispatchers, maintenance personnel, and supervisors. Position Summary Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO), the Financial Controller will manage all accounting department operations, including billing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledgers, cost accounting, revenue recognition, and inventory accounting. You will provide executive leadership with accurate, comprehensive, and timely financial information to support policy-making and financial strategy development. This position involves routine accountability to executive leadership while being an integral part of our finance department, led by the CFO. Key Responsibilities • Prepare and enter monthly journal entries. • Reconcile all income and balance sheet accounts. • Review the company’s accounting systems to identify and resolve inaccuracies. • Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in a timely manner, compliant with policies, procedures, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). • Support month-end and year-end close processes. • Provide cash flow statements as requested. • Coordinate regulatory reporting and assist external auditors with documentation and support. • Manage compliance with local, state, and federal reporting requirements and tax filings. • Serve as the primary keeper of company financial records, ensuring proper filing and maintenance per internal practices. • Ensure quality control for financial reporting and transactions. • Recommend accounting policies and business processes to enhance internal controls. • Collaborate with the executive team to establish effective processes and controls for ledger integrity. • Supervise and manage subordinate department employees. • Communicate effectively with the executive team on all financial matters. • Perform additional duties as necessary. • Required Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in economics, business administration, accounting, or finance. • Experience with NetSuite accounting software or similar ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP, or QuickBooks Enterprise). • Strong communication skills to discuss business finances and justify recommendations with co-workers and management. • High level of attention to detail. • Ability to work effectively under time constraints and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines. • Basic math skills for accurate calculations and estimates. • Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). Work Environment • Primary office location in Sun Valley, CA. • Occasional travel (up to 20%) to alternate company sites within Los Angeles County. • Standard schedule: Monday through Friday, during regular business hours, or as otherwise needed.
