Financial Controller

SerpApi is the leading solution to integrate search data into web applications. Our API scrapes search engines, solves CAPTCHAs, and keeps up with changing page layouts in one simple GET request. Our customers include Airbnb, Nvidia, Meta, Shopify, GrubHub and more. We are seeking a strategic, detail-drivenFinancial Controllerto lead our internal finance function and support our long-term growth. This is afull-time, on-siterole based inAustin, TX. As the Financial Controller at SerpApi, you will oversee our accounting operations, implement financial controls, manage budgets and reporting, and ensure full compliance with financial regulations. You will work closely with the CEO and Executive Assistants to provide insights and help guide company strategy through a strong financial lens. Responsibilities: • Oversee all accounting operations including AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, and month- end close • Improve internal financial processes and controls • Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure compliance with GAAP and tax requirements • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports • Coordinate with external CPAs and legal advisors • Evaluate financial performance and recommend strategic improvements • Monitor cash flow, capital allocation, and company spend • Manage financial systems and tools, including potential upgrades or integrations What We're Looking For: • 5+ years of experience in accounting/finance, with 2+ years in a controller or senior accounting role preferred • Deep understanding of GAAP and financial compliance • Proficiency in accounting platforms (QuickBooks Online preferred) and tools like Excel/Sheets • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills • Excellent attention to detail, organization, and communication • Experience working in a startup or SaaS environment is a strong plus • Able to work full-time in our Austin, TX office We can offer $110k-$140k per year (depending on profile), 401k matching, Blue Cross Blue Shield health insurance, and profit-sharing bonuses.
