Job Description
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Financial Controller to join our dynamic finance team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in overseeing financial operations, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and providing insightful financial analysis to support strategic decision-making. This position requires a strong understanding of financial concepts, corporate accounting, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
▪ Accounting & Financial
▪ Coordinates all activities with respect to maintaining the company’s financial books and records in an accurate, and timely manner
▪ Provide monthly Profit & Loss Balance Sheet and Cashflow reporting
▪ Create and maintains a system of internal controls designed to ensure the integrity of the company’s books & records and to protect company assets
▪ Manages Billing, Collections, Accounts Receivable, Payroll and HR
▪ Responsible for managing disbursements including Payroll and Accounts Payable
▪ Optimizes Cash Management and coordinates the deployment of cash with Senior
Management
▪ Responsible for coordination of all audits and resolution of audit findings
▪ Liaison with outside corporate CPA accounting firms to provide necessary schedules, bank reconciliations, backup for accruals, loan balances and other balance sheet line items as needed.
▪ Staff Management and HR
▪ Responsible for the supervision of accounting staff.
▪ Manages staff and evaluate current and future staffing requirements, including hiring, periodic reviews and effectively addressing personnel issues
▪ Leadership of team results in high performance, morale and excellent customer/client service
▪ Oversight of PTO, and any existing or future bonus and commission programs
▪ Strategic Analysis, Planning ; Management Reporting
▪ Lead the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting process
▪ Provide financial and planning support to the Leadership Team
▪ Provide ad-hoc reports and information as needed
▪ Key management team contributor that provides strategic financial analysis, reports and
recommendations
▪ Vendor Relationships
▪ Creates and maintains relationships with vendors that lead to improved terms and
conditions received by the company
▪ Evaluate the value proposition, cost structure and necessity of existing vendors.
▪Source, negotiate and recommend new/replacement vendors and additional services that contribute to improving financial results and the internal and external customer experience.
▪ Process System Enhancements
▪ Continually improves systems, processes, policies, procedures, technology and internal controls
▪ Support Assigned Projects
▪ An immediate priority will be upgrading the current financial close process to a more
robust monthly process and reporting system that provides timely information to
management
▪ This will include determining the appropriate accruals, supporting journal entries
and reporting mechanisms
▪ Improving the efficiency of interfacing systems containing client and billing data
with the financial reports
▪ This will require designing and implementing accounting processes, procedures and
internal controls
Qualifications
▪ Bachelor Degree in finance, business administration, account or related area. MBA
preferred, but not required.
▪ Strong computer and software skills, specifically with QuickBooks and MS products. Must be an expert in excel.
▪ Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
▪Experience:
▪ Proven track record of similar responsibilities for at least 8 years.
▪ Experience in the Logistics, Transportation and/or Delivery Industry is preferred, but not required.

Salary: Annual $95,000 to $150,000 Based on experience
