The Financial Data Scientist Role

As a Financial Data Scientist at SESAMm, you will build models and strategies  based on financial and alternative data (with a potential bigger focus on NLP data). You will implement them  in an optimized manner by using powerful algorithms and machine learning technics.

Key Activities

• Work with large datasets (financial or alternative data) using cutting edge technologies;
• Extract predictive signals from various data sources through a variety of methods including statistical data analysis, machine learning and time series analysis;
• Research and develop advanced models and implement new investment ideas;
• Collaborate with external and internal clients to identify their business needs.

Desired Background and SkillsEducation

• Master’s degree in Data Science  with strong IT skills. Financial skills (mainly in company valuation/fundamental analysis and risk management) is a plus for this position.

Experience

• A first experience in finance (banks, insurers, asset managers etc…)  is a huge plus. 

Skills

• Very good skills in Python (Numpy, Pandas)
• Very good knowledge in machine learning is mandatory
• Experience in financial analysis/companies valuation is a plus
• Capable of proposing innovative solutions to tough technical challenges
• Excellent communication skills: communicate insights on data and strategies to the clients
• Languages: fluent English and an intermediate level of French
